well ive heard that within 30 years because of global warming we WILL be Leigh-on-Sea and because of our elevated position will be the only club this side of the pennines (to be renamed Halifax sand dunes) and therefore will be classified as an expansion club.

It's in a piece written by Rebecca Smith under " Leigh ARE relegated confirm RFL" in the League Weekly paper but after explaining that Leigh and Donny will be relegated it then says an RFL spokesman said, "AT PRESENT we have no plans to increase the number of teams in C1!.

I think part of the answer is in Mr Woods interview in RL World

When asked if more clubs would be entering the semi pro ranks , he replied " If you had asked me that question 12 months ago I would have been more confident , however with the present economical climate we have had to put things on hold "

So they have a problem , nobodys going to risk chucking a load of dosh at an expansion club in the near future but they also have the problem of lop sided fixtures and gaps in the playing season causing financial problems

How about the winner of C1 GF not being up to standard required. Obviously only tell them after GF tho.

It wouldn't surprise me if they did!

But they'd only go and promote London Skolars instead.

And that would do a bunch for all the clubs left in Championship 1.

Looks like 2ways for a reprieve first Toulouse relegated or Celtic Crusaders throw the towel in. Second another club to join Championship 1.

Now if it was the Toulouse reprieve I would go to the proposed friendly in January despite the cold weather and price of a pint.

and very much in line with all of what I was told by my Fax friend in my earlier post.
