even though most people were warning them that the middle 8's would be a totally different ball game, they wouldn't have it, 'all conquering Leigh' were gonna steamroll their way into super league and take 10,000 fans with them etc, it all got a bit much for some of them.

just remind us what the Giants have won this year and the league Wednesday play in these days....another sheep bummer with nothing better to do.

Quote: JENKY "Gave chase far too much space and he showed what he can do if left to his own devices!

The injuries we currently have didn't help and the bench we had today wasn't of the quality we've been spoilt with all season (although I presume Spencer and Acton are not fit as one if not both would have been on it for me).

50 / 50 calls we've been getting went Salfords way so that all important rub of the green you need when playing established SL games was missing.

Bottom line though is a full strength Salford looks a far different team to the one that has staggered through SL all season and I must admit if they had been able to play that team all season they wouldn't have been playing us today!
Pretty sure I still haven't seen us beat Salford away (when was the last time we won away at Salford?).

Need to get back to what we do well and remember these first two games was always going to be tough.
A good week in training before getting back to a packed LSV (this fixture really needs promoting locally in Leigh as we need a big vociferous home support backing the lads for what will be a really tough test against Wakefields Super 8's team).
Disappointed today but the target the club set itself is still very much in its own hands.'"

Well said Jenky!

Now's not the time for any of us - coaches, players, or fans - to be getting downhearted!

Ball security, ball security, ball security....

& tackling.

I have said it before & I will say it again, offloads killed us today *again* & some very poor tackling in defence.

That Rangi Chase try, where he ran through 5 or 6 Leigh tacklers was woeful & made to look like a world beating run by poor 'slap tackling'.

I really hate to be calling out the frailties of the team but today the £million difference showed.

Looking across the park today, almost man for man Salford were physically a much bigger side & had pace to burn because they had a much better completion rate, therfore being on the front foot & retaining more energy.

Chatting early in the game I called for Leigh to run at Chase & Dobson as much as possible, hoping this might drain their playmakers & therefore taking a little edge off their effectiveness, however it's easier said than done.

Having said all that, I still believe Leigh can produce a much better performance against Wakey next week & I think they will.

A nod to some of the Salford fans I chatted to walking to Brookhouse after the game, not in the least bit did they gloat or suggest we are a poor side & furthermore, praised our away support very highly.

So, Salford much better than the last time we met & looked quality, Leigh outclassed but showed enough to suggest we might still be in the fight.

Thought Mickey Higham was fantastic when he was on.

Fans in the North Stand were awesome.

The Club need a big push to promote next weeks home match *as said elsewhere* & get a big & noisy home crowd in to cheer on the team.

We support the game for what it is.And if this little arrogant team from the championship as upset the world of sooper dooper league, then that counts for something.Put us on an even keel and lets see how you go then.

Of co they will get a bit giddy and over confiden - not arrogant - like you said we have probably the best two seasons in 20 years. But on the other hand there has been a lot of jealousy and ridiculously bad press aimed at the club for the way they do business and perform on the field by teams who we beat on a reguar basis.

Salford Red Devils RLFC. [quote="Gotcha":y7izhg01]Salford won't win Super League in my lifetime. Even saying in jest they would sounds stupid.[/quote:y7izhg01]:

But Salford (who were in botom 4 for a resaon) beat us very easily today. If we don't beat Wakefield next week, can't see us finishing in the top 5.'"

Are you for real? You’ve just been humbled by a very good Salford team, a totally different one from the side you beat in the Challenge Cup earlier in the season. To suggest Bradford and Halifax will beat you is laughable.

Well I was one of [ithose[/i Leigh fans that actually thought we'd win at Salford yesterday. It is not arrogance, it's more a hope. A pride in our club. A belief. A positivity. And a confidence because we're an emerging club. Etc, etc - fecking etc.

So all those that choose to believe otherwise can stick it up their backside. This site is great for RL fans to come together and chat, with banter etc and knowledge. However, on the flip side, this site can be equally shiite because it allows all the fecking weirdos to have a voice. It's just as well, though, that there's a "foe" or "blocked" option, which I am using more and more these days.

That aside, Leigh weren't at the races yesterday, from minute one. Salford bullied us and walked tries in. Rangi Chase strolled around the park like he was up against school kids.

Whatever the reason, the Leigh players weren't ready for that match.

But, again, it's still all to play for - and we'll be back.

Come on Leigh!!!!!!!!!

Simple fact is we cant defend against better teams, especialy out wide.Second half yesterday NEVER saw our centres, were they still on the pitch? Lets give Sarsfield a runout at centre,he cant be any worse.

I don't normally comment on games but for me the biggest disappointment was the basic errors. How did we concede the penalty when in possession near our line with just a few mins on the clock? Then not to find touch from a penalty and back chatting to the ref to give away further yards. Possession and field position is key against super league sides and we let ourselves down again with both.

However, I didn't think there was much in it first half. They scored off a stupid penalty and scored two more. We had two ruled knock ons.

Second half, they scored a couple of soft tries when our heads went down.

Also thought are kicking game was poor. If on the last at least kick through to try and get the try or put it up in the air to compete and possibly force the error etc

Saturday is massive. Home advantage is a massive plus and we've got to at least put in a top performance on Saturday which were more than capable of doing

On the 8th day, God created Rugby League On the 9th day, Satan created Salford. A battle ensued through to to late on the 12th day. A few hours later, a truce, and on the final stroke of midnight, Code 13 was created... Heaven and Hell combined forces and delivered Salford Red Devils...a legacy is born!!!!!:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_71248.jpg

I for one couldn't help myself in praising the tremendous turnout in the North Stand on social media, you did your club proud!!!
Also, forget the final score and what some of your fans believe to be a poor performance, Leigh have a very good ball playing squad who I hope do make it to SL next season (providing it's not at our expense).. Good luck for remaining games

JG, not playing as well as we were earlier in the season. Last time we 'really clicked' was v Featherstone in early July. Final 2 games in the league, Doncaster (1st half) & Dewsbury (2nd half) we were very poor. 1st half v Hull KR was great, although I admit Bradford are on their worst run of the season.
