| Quote: "Well, the club has obviously showed interest in him, meaning he would accommodate the wing position. If the club feel they need to sign a winger, I will support that. I know we have different views, but when I mentioned Ravalawa, and he is 4 years younger than Sivo who will be 31 before the start of next season, I personallythought it was worth looking at.
It also seems funny that everyone was looking forward to Blake Ferguson until he returned to Oz. He would have also have taken a quota spot bsck then, but that was ok then for everyone, but not now.'"
Although we did choose to use the quota spot freed up when Ferguson left on a prop, rather than a replacement winger, as our squad did look a prop light at the time.
I’m struggling to see which non-quota options there are to the required quality to fill the gaps at prop, second row and loose forward. But they must feel they have them if they are looking at another overseas back, on top of Armstrong as well as still talking to Leutele.

| How about a left-field suggestion for Loose Forward - Monsieur Catalans - Ben Garcia. He is not a quota spot and Les Dracs have been stocking up on Loose Forwards.

I have wondered about that. He’s signed on for another couple of years there, but Partington won’t be going there to be second choice

| I've seen anything of either of the wingers mentioned to be able to say whether they would be an upgrade on Charnley or McIntosh, but I wouldn't be disappointed to see Charnley and McIntosh as our starting wingers next year, with Leutele and Hanley as the starting centres. But we will need some more depth.
I'm very surprised at the lack of reports on incomings. If they have players signed up, they've done a very good job of keeping it away from the likes of Matt Shaw and Aaron Bower.

| What about using Leutele as a replacement for ODonnell on the left side back row ala Watkins at Salford, certainly big enough and strong enough and can run the right lines.

| Thanks Cokey for this. Good spot.
Interesting that this signing, if it comes off, was first rumoured around 6 months ago.
It might just suggest that the anticipated new signings for next year are already done deals and are just waiting for official announcement by the club or for 'outing' by the usual press outlets as they get wind of the stories.
Either way, after all the disappointment of the news of the players leaving for next year we can all begin to get excited by more positive news like this as replacements become known.
It also backs up Lam's previous pronouncements that new signings will be younger and faster than the players being replaced. The indications are that we could be even more exciting to watch next year than we are this, which would be quite something given how good we have been, at times, this and last season.

| If true then thank you to Ricky for being an outstanding player for us. I've watched Niu a couple of times and there's improvement to be made defensively but he's still young and he's very quick. Would be a great signing as we have a good track record of improving players, I know if I was a young player I'd be signing for Lam and Co.
Regarding next year, I'd be getting the players in slightly earlier with a full S&C set up in place. Feel we couldn't do this during last pre season and it's cost us injuries and points at the beginning of the year. Exciting times ahead but still all to play for this year aswell. Good times to be a Leigh fan.

I think the biggest issue with the S&C setup last winter was the turnaround in non-playing staff. Went into pre season without and S&C coach, and it cost us big time.
