That is poor IMO. Hope there is a last minute surge on sales. We have 30-40,000 regular attanding RL fans on the doorstep and looks like we can't fill the stadium.
Its not like these people didn't know about the game.

They probably don't TBH. It's in the RL press, but it's hardly got a mention in the nationals, they're falling over themselves with exclusives about the football. Not that many RL fans buy the RL trades....

Anyone from outside Leigh will not get home for the start of the football, bad planning by Red Hall once again. At least they can call the Leigh supporters for not turning out however it is not our team it is a super duper league team. So where are the pies and the scousers there should be enough of them to fill it with others wanting tickets. By the way I have my ticket.

Was listening to Radio Manchester and the RFL made a few interesting points. The match was scheduled before the world cup timetable was announced, and the original KO was altered so that people would have time to leave the ground and watch the football.

If we want to be taken seriously, we shouldn't have to try and fit our sport in around football. For me it was a choice between watching a game of rugby league for a fiver, or watching the overpaid and underworked on the telly for 90 minutes. RL wins for me every time, and I don't understand why more people look at it in the same way.

kick off time in original rfl brochures was 3pm. Sky enforced the change.

What he said. We're not in competition with football, we appeal to a different market.

of the 30-40,000 fans on the door step - they must have known. Virtually every person that has bought a ticket from RFL for internationals GF's etc would have received something in the post and emailed. In last couple of weeks the Sky games have had the game on the pitch advertised.
No excuses really especially at bargain price of tenner.
Will Leigh be looked at again for staging such high profile games in near future ? Look at Donny for the last time we played France there.

of co they new.
its nonsense to suggest otherwise.
every sport in this country other than football is now based on the international game.
its no wonder RL is drifting farther and farther down the pecking order in the bigger picture of british sport.
its the only sport in this country which has a governing body which lacks the ability to govern.
its been pitiful to watch this sport go from the second biggest sport in the country to an also ran in the space of 15years

I really dont think thats completely true.
Sure a lot of rugby league fans dont like football and vice versa but im sure a lot like both too.
But the world cup is an entirely different proposition. Especially when England are playing - a great deal of people dont support a club/watch football on tv but watch England.

I here the RFL are thrilled thus far about how things are going for the International after attending a press conferance today.

Mr Lewis when asked about the choice of venue said he was initially shocked to find the pitch 'in such a rough state' , however one of his advisors pointed out the ground had actually moved further up the bypass which he said was a 'big shock, but a nice surprise to find Salfords new ground built so quickly'.
He said he then went into ASDA to sign autographs and was thrilled to see the superstore selling a whole host of flags & hats, Chairs, Beer Glasses etc, etc , he was quoted as saying "Its great to see such a big superstore stocking up on England items just for the RL International".

When asked about the problems of going head to head with the biggest sporting tournament in the world he replied that "we are not going head to head with the biggest tournament, if you look at whats on SKY TV you'll notice we are only up against the NFL Magazine programme and some motorsport show"

North stand will be pay turnstyles.
The flash car park will be £3, as the LSV have had to hire it to use it.
