For next week i think we need all 4 props.

Ferguson, on today's performance is clearly x-factor and must play, if only for the showboating backflip ability - after scoring a try i might add. Great debut and set-up a length of field try following a defensive catch of a high ball near our own line. Want to try that attacking ploy Fev? You have been warned.

Ipape must be on the bench. He adds real zip from dummy half. He has to be in the squad because Smith always seems to take a heavy knock every game. If it wasn't so serious, which it clearly is, then it would be comical given its regularity. Ipape also provides cover at half back (and possibly wing) as does Asiata (at half back, not wing!) if backs get injured and a reshuffle is necessary

O'Donnell has to be on the bench with 2 of the props because he is fast and dynamic and also covers a number of positions at a push.

All of this means, that for me as well, Brand is going to be extremely unlucky and will miss out. If he does miss out then it will seem to be very hard on him since he has done absolutely nothing wrong this season and is clearly growing in his game. However, we need to be realistic, he simply cannot keep out Ferguson. Brand has played fantastically well out of position but the only way i see him in the squad is if he is used on the bench, as today, as cover for the back 3 and centre positions. Unfortunately, i think that is a luxury selection that we cannot afford to make. We will need to take on Fev up front and beat them there. If we are to do that then we need two big props on the bench as interchange.

Septimius, I have not got a problem with your suggested 17. This is, of course, based on the assumption that everyone is fit for selection. Roll on London!

Yarp, Brand is by far the most improved player this season, and is ever-present in a changing and evolving team. Unfortunately he is now the dreaded "Utility Back".

Jones played well today, but is a squad player like Nisbet and Roberts. Totally agree with Jack that 4 Props is the way to batter/better the Fev pack.

Ferguson was an absolute monster, and adds to the considerable units already occupying our flanks, this will hopefully nullify the Featherstone back line.

Mark Kheirallah can expect a barrage of high balls, which was the weakness that Featherstone highlighted in Toulouse last season.

Roll on London indeed.

The back flip you simplify to meet your statement. You missed the fact of the North Stand. No mention of Hingano? Will Brand miss out? Can Fev cope with switches in play? Mellor scoring on the wing!

Any idea the size of the pitch at Spurs? It could affect outcome if encourages width.

Jack, a quick perusal of wikipedia reveals, if correct, that the ground dimensions at Tottenham are 105m x 68m. The pitch dimensions are described as a 'standard size' and it is precisely the same size of pitch as both Old Trafford and Wembley..

Hopefully, no worries then. At least we are not playing on a mini rugby pitch such as that disgrace of a pitch, and ground, at Odsall. In this respect i am paraphrasing the recent comments of the York coach. Perhaps he was a bit more polite about it but it was the same sentiment and we all knew what he actually meant.

I have a friend who is a West Ham supporter that says the Tottenham pit is a great big bowling green surface, perfect for fast, expansive rugby. Stay tight, simple and strong in the middle (with and without the ball) for the first 20, and stay on the right side of the penalty count, and we can do this. Totally agree that 4 props and Ipape of the bench is a must. Also Inu with his right boots on has to play.

Vancouver, i could not agree with you more. Inu is a cert to start. He adds size and power on the wing and has the experience of playing in big games. He is also quite calming in his demeanour. All the right qualities for when cooler heads are required. Of course, he is also our main kicker. Yes, he missed virtually everything yesterday but that has been the only game his kicking radar has been off. At Tottenham on Saturday he plays and i bet he kicks everything.

Can you expand on that? Who showed a weakness under high balls in Toulouse last season?

Last season Featherstone got battered by Toulouse in the first half of the Championship Grand Final. Fev made a good fist of a recovery by putting pressure on the fullback, Fev then signed him 5 months later knowing his biggest weakness..

Kheirallah will be targeted and besides Leigh half got some tall lads out wide.

I like Kheirallah, but I would rather have Aekins.

I remember Kheirallah dropping one in the final but he's usually sound enough under the high ball, I'd be more concerned about the wide kicks. As an aside, I also remember Aekins being like a rabbit in the headlights under the high ball at Post Office Road this year, to the extent that the Premier Sports summarisers were saying he didn't want to know. I certainly wouldn't swap full backs.

need to factor in both in goals though in the 105m length.... so i suspect it will be a little shorter than LSV
