They play each other once,in a league system =7 games.
4 clubs will play 4 home games and 3 away games, and vice versa,4 will play 3 home and 4 away.
9th and 10th in super league and top two in championship play 4 home games.
I think the qualifier league might get more media interest than the grand final play offs!

For once, I think that the RFL have come up with a simple answer. 
As you say, Cokey, the bottom four SL teams and the top four Championship teams have a mini league season. Points previously earned are wiped out (because the two sets of teams were playing against different levels of competition) and the whole season (and thus whether you go into SL the following year or remain in the Championship) rests on the upcoming 7 matches - one each against the other teams in the group.
Because there are an odd number of games to be played, the RFL feels that the "extra" home game should be awarded to the four teams which have done best so far (ie those who finished 9th and 10th in SL and 1st and 2nd in the Championship).
At the end of the mini league, the top 3 are promoted into SL for the following season along with winners of a play off between 4th and 5th. The rest stay in the Championship for another year (at least !).

I am sure they will publish who plays who at least league position wise anyway just as soon as their heads stop hurting. However the 4 home game solution seems reasonably thought out

One thing which isn't in there is Championship overseas quota will be 5.....up from the current 1

Agreed , It's the 3 away games that are confusing. |

Slightly disappointed they changed their mind about giving all 4 Championship clubs the extra home game, Championship Clubs are in there because they've been winning Super League ones because they're loosing, winners should get the advantage.

That's true but you know our record with playoff games.
I can see it now next season in the Qualifier Super 8, Leigh 4th Featherstone 5th and us then loosing to Fev, probably after beating them 3 times already.

I got about half way through reading the rules for next season and lost the will to live. The RFL don't believe in making things easy for the fans, do they? I've a feeling that most fans won't understand what has happened even at the end of next season.

I honestly think it's allot simpler than the current Super League & Championship Playoff format (With the exception of League 1, not sure how that's going to work split regionally). Think once everyone has seen it played through next season it'll all become clear to everyone. |
