The Canadian team also has "Little" John Felix, Enoch "the Warrior" Walmawa (by the way he really is a fast prop/second row and I think the one player they have who could make it pro) and goalkicker Steve "the Technician" Piatek.

I don't mind it, anything to stir up the crowd and excite the kids. The commentary grates on my ears something rotten though.

It really is odd sitting in a stadium of 7,000 people and you are only one of about hundred who really knows the rules (I suppose it's like being at the DW). The crowd have no appreciation at all of kicking for field position and as long as the ball gets over the line it is a try as far as they are concerned!

Interesting fact is that the commentator is either the President or Chairman of the Canadian Rugby League (I can't remember which) - the equivalent of Nigel Wood or Brian Barwick! The commentary is not recorded live, but done after the fact, which is why he commentates on the match and not anything else.

What was really nice to see for the Jamaica game was that they had u-10 teams playing on the pitch at half-time...the main focus here is on the international game but good to see some development also..

He's pretty young...early twenties I would say...biceps as big as my leg! Fast runner, good hand-off...tough as nails. They usually play him off the bench in spells. That's pretty much all I can tell you.

Missed the game but will catch it on regular TV here next week as I see it is on.
Seems like Rugby League is really catching the eye here these days. 6 clubs now in the British Columbia Rugby League program. This includes Bayside Sharks who are the proud owners of the old Leigh Centurions kit that was originally sent over by Leigh to the Toronto Centurions.

Canada vs Norway at home in early September. My mum will be across from Leigh and will be able to watch a live game with her grandson.

No reason why Canada cannot break into the world top 10 if the next decade if they keep up this kind of momentum. The trick will be to vastly increase the player pool and they could do with finding a few NRL stars with grandparents from the big white North!

No reason why they can't, I definatey think qualification for the 2015 WC would help.

Working on RLP I think Canada are the nation that are making the most noise outside of the WC nations at the moment and have been for some time.

Charlie thinks its great to see Teams sprouting up in the Outposts of world RL , my own team the Napoli Dog Soldiers are doing very well in their League , we may even gget to see a Dog Soldier one day play for Leigh .
