Fully agree with that, and with the price being a tenner, although I would've been tempted to make it 'a quid for a kid' and try to drum up some interest in local schools (especially primaries).

Young kids, especially those new to RL, love to see plenty of tries being scored and this is probably you best chance of doing that this season.

Free for the ST holders

Well done to the club for the £10 fee for adults, even though I`ve a ST.

Agree with the £10 fee, although with one less NRC game this year I do have a nagging feeling that we're almost losing out as a season ticket holder when this is a 'free' game that is at a reduced rate anyway.

What happens If we beat Wath Brow and another amateur club gets through and we draw them, still £10? I think not the finances do not stack up.

the players still have to be paid no matter the opposition, lsv still charge whatever they charge for us using the ground, so i think a tenner is a good deal, i however am a st ticket holder and get in anyway, so lets be positive and get a few people in, but like fred wisely says if it were free some scroats would want leigh to pay them to go in.

Start giving away free ticketsto any age group and they expect it every week then they dont come, all this about 'when i was a lad we got free tickets and im still coming' is of the past there are far more things to attract the younger people today. Get it right on the field of play, make it attractive for them, but if your giving away to kids then they should be earned, good schoolwork, behaviour, good performance etc...
Best way is through the amateur clubs you already have a base who is interested in the sport, and they may bring along a parent or two (or grandparent) now thats where a discount could be applied, but like Matt rightly says it must tee season ticket holders off if too many discounts are given away especially when once the discount dissapears then so do the bodies.

My dear Freddy, the exact point you make about there being more things for kids to do these days is precisely why all u17`s should be welcomed with open arms & not charged a penny for getting in. Quite frankly your idea that free entrance should be linked to some kind of school performance rating is utterly absurd & completely unworkable. Finally your suggestion to give tickets to junior RL club members is a very good starting point, however you immediately punish all those kids who want to watch RL but for whatever reason cannot be members of local clubs.
The Watcher truly believes that Leigh RLFC could lead the RL world by allowing all people who are 16 or younger in for free, it is the future.
The Watcher wonders how much Leigh take in gate receipts from U17`s & would it not be possible for LISA, for example, to cover that money & then allow all kids in for nowt & see if there is any interest out there ?
Freddy is correct on one point when he obviously states that a good team will attract more speccies than a bad one, that really is a given though is it not.

What would be best is if LISA, LSV and the club sat down with the fixture list and agreed their ticketing strategy for the season (ie. when special offers can be put on, what they should be, who they should be offered to, how, etc).

They could also plan for additional 'unusual' games (eg. Thursday night, CC games, etc) so you're not having to wait until after it's announced that a game is on SKY, or the cup draw is done before discussing/deciding what offers should be.

This would also help 'fair-weather fans' like Peawapp decide whether the season ticket is good value for money or not?!

And here's me thinking nothing could break the brotherhood of the NCL Mr C!

Cheers Marra, same to you for your game. Should be a great weekend for RL in Leigh for all those that love the game from the grassroots upwards. I'm really looking forward to seeing your facilities at the LSV. Never made it down for our game with you in the league but I did having a passing look on the way to Miners, looked very impressive indeed!
