McCarthy did well in the Wire first team back end of last year but he is 21, so he should be making an impact.

Mitchell is the better player out the 3 and will turn out to be a very good SL player.

Mitchell and Blythe are okay, but tbh they went off the boil last year, hopefully the game time with Leigh will keep them developing while they aren't in our first team.

McCarthy is very impressive in the few games that he has played (including the CC Final at Wembley in only his 3rd game!). Unfortunately he has a lot of competition at Wire for his position (loose forward) and it may be another year until he can get a regular position with us.

Blythe can also play in the centres btw, and that is actually where he had his best game for us last year.

The Wigan Observer says Ben Davies is going out on loan to Leigh or Widnes.

I've been to the Wigan fans forum tonight and Ian Lenagan said we'll be making announcments on players being loaned out in the next few days.

I hope to god Davies comes to Leigh, just what Leigh need. Him and Hill starting games at prop with McConnell's current running and form at 9 will see Leigh start games on the front foot.

Widnes for goodness sake. OK I,ll go when we play them but I am sure Ben would prefer to be where folk speak proper English'have a Yates and Greers 'and' where he would be appreciated by eclectic discerning RL fans who would be delighted to see him wearing OUR shirt.

Hopefully Leigh duffing up the chance to take him on last season won't affect his decision, hopefully Millward will get him in and talk him into signing. Having said that I can see benefits of also going to Widnes.

It would seem to make more sense to allow a Leigh lad to go and play for Leigh but there you go. From our point of view i'm just happy that he's going to get some proper games in but i'd guess the lad would have liked a move to Leigh.

I wouldn't waste any time on who's not coming and concentrate on who is.

Mitchell, Blythe and especially McCarthy are excellent signings.

See we are getting rubbished again on the goons board, calling Millward for his comments, and one of them reckon we will come second bottom or there abouts, its on the Ben Davies thread.
