I have a very good friend who I have known since his Son and my Grandson joined Leigh Miners under sixes, and they are now both 17 ,He and His son and his Dad were avid swinton fans and season ticket holders ,and now he never ever goes because of the Kidds ,as He says neither of em know the first thing about Rugby and another thing they haven't played in Swinton for 21 years ,so as far as He is concerned (and He was a red hot fan) the Kidd's can go and make love to themselves or words to that effect, and after last season there is no doubt that I feel more comfortable at Halifax. Dewsbury and especially Batley than I do at Leyth when it's Swinetowns home game

Peawaap , as i dont know the Kidds , i bow to your better knowledge , all im saying is we were treated very well on Good Friday , and i always speak as i find about folk , in fact my nieces husband played for Swinton a few years ago and enjoyed his time there , obviously i dont know what went on in the past , in fact it was mentioned by a Swinton director about another guy sat next to me , id never heard of him though , called John Wade

Quite honestly Swinton fans who use the excuse that the club have been out of the town for 20 odd years really get on my nerves. On the assumption we ever got close to a Challenge cup final would those same fans say that.......No they would be the ones spouting off about how they have watched them for years, in my opinion it's an excuse not to go.

I always thought that as a supporter you watch your team through good and bad times and if that means I have had to watch us play at a number of different venues then I will. Don't you think that every Lions fan would be much happier at a ground we can call home, of course we would. But harsh facts of life have dictated that we can't so for me the next best thing is watch them wherever they call home.

I have to say I have never witnessed any animosity from Lions fans towards the Leigh fans indeed on Friday I was sat with a Leigh lad who I have got to know quite well from the gym where we have good friendly banter so I don't know where your dislike of us comes from.

I'll be there on Saturday along with my son and I will watch us play the French and then will stay and watch the Leigh team...why because I recognise the help your club has given us in the past.

So Halifax are charging their fans £7.50 and Leigh are charging their fans £18 against an amateur side.

With two seperated kick off times it wouldn't be a double header, it would be two seperate games that could be priced accordingly and would attract more fans the the eighteen quid nonsense.

Harold, your post is technically incorrect. Correct if you only watch one game. Incorrect in that it is sold as a double header.

Charlie I think the guy you are referring to is a bloke called John Waye..he was Chairmen for a short while when we still had Station Rd, a nive guy I recollect. Sadly he was around at the time Station Rd was ripped from the heart of the club by the infamous Malcolm White. Again I can't recollect Mr Waye's involvement in that sad episode if any at all.

You are more than likely correct Marshy , he seemed a nice bloke , i must admit all the Swinton connections made us feel very welcome , a big thank you to them .

Personally speaking I would only ever want to watch Leigh's game so to me it is extremely over priced and I shall not be attending. So that's nil revenue to the club from my pocket.

Those who want to watch both games will admittedly be getting a better deal but what take up the club can attract for that really does remain to be seen.

I also appalud Halifax RLFC for pricing their match extremely fair so to add more appeal to their encounter and I really hope they pull in a decent crowd and make some money on the back of it.
