Maybe some of the Haven fans should speak to the young lad a few years back who was so worse for wear with drink he missed the coach , was he assaulted with baseball bats , robbed and left to the mercy of the leyth hordes ?

No he was given a lift by a leigh director to a pub run by another Leigh director were he stayed until the following day when his father could drive down to pick him up

It is just a game , not life or death , I personally have never had any problems with any fans from Cumbria , maybe it is because no matter what happens on the pitch , when the whistle goes , it is over , we are all fans of the GG , a smile and a " see you next year " goes a long way to a happy exit

Plenty 'Haven fans said the same to me after the game on Sunday, I must admit and were similarly unimpressed with the stewards.

For what it's worth, the first 'going down' chant was only started when one of the 'Haven fans who was hurling abuse outside of the bar came across with a tirade that I believe was translated in to English as something along the lines of "you shouldn't even be playing us you cheating barstewards".

The same complaints have been made about 'Haven year after year. Still, Hilton Park is probably in better nick now than the appopriately named Rec ever will be.
