Whether folk like it or not, the hassle an ordinary working man who has fallen on lean times has getting benefits is criminal in comparison to those who have just jumped out of a wagon.

If anyone doubts it, just ask any brickie, joiner, plumber etc who's not worked for the last few months.

If you got made redundant today you would be lucky to see anything for months.

That article says to me we've bled this country dry lets find another. Is it a coincidence that aplications started to fall when the UK economy went into meltdown?

Quote: TV BOY "Let me say this everyone. My brother who lives in Leigh has a wife who is crippled with MS. He is working himself the a standstill. He looks like the world is resting on his shoulders. He has tried to get help from Wigan Health Authority, the councill and the government but has met brick walls at every turning. The worst part of all this is that his wife has been treated apallingly by the local health authority. My mum is worried to death about them.
Down the road a familly from some other country has moved in and has been given a house, car, clothes, furniture, health care, a damn site more help than my brother and his wife have and they have paid taxes all their lives.
Another story is a pensioner who fought in the war cant get enough from the government/council to put food on the table or keep his house warm in winter.
My point is. Untill those idiots in that pompous building that is supposed the be the centre of our controlling party gets their s into gear and forget all about having their ugly faces on the TV, then the BNP will pick up support in towns like our's. Maybe not from my brother because we were brought up not really knowing racism. I cant get my head round why people hate other people for the colour of their skin or the way they look. Its the way we were taught.
I dont think all of the people who support the BNP are out and out racists. In fact I think there are probably more in the house of lords and the commons.
My last word is, how can the BNP march get banned and yet a group of protesters calling British soldiers returning home, "murderers",
be allowed.
We do live in a democracy, dont we?'"

very well put if the muslims in Luton could demonstrate why not these B.N. P marchers. We live in a democracy only for some people if your born and bred in Britain it doesnt include you

Isn't it British job agencies that bring Polish workers in for example. Some even rent out property to these people, so they get double income. The British companies employ them, the British agencies supply them, the British consumer buys their goods because they are cheaper.
You get what you pay for, someone that can't speak English, has no money, home, or experience in this country....as jimmy Carr (the comedian) says about people that can't compete with them, "How stupid are you?" tongue in cheek joke but there is some truth in it.
As pointed out further back with amount of cheap labour in holiday resorts in Europe taken up by Brits taking local jobs. We can't have it both ways.
Asylum seekers are part and parcel of todays world because of how much trouble (wars and tyranny) and poverty is around the world. We as a wealthy nation have an obligation (just like rest of western nations) to provide safe haven for genuine people that suffer. Problem is trying to sieve through to find genuine ones.
BNP simplify things without any meat on the bones. What do you do with someone that is in this country and has no paperwork, and his/her country won't take them back ?
It costs a fortune to keep a criminal in jail. So how does BNP sieve through genuine asylum seekers and keep costs down. You have to keep tabs on them - costs money. You have to provide for them or they will steal to live - costs money.

ps mutt, please provide a link for the Aussies that was going to sink a boat full of unarmed innocent people. I just can't see that. Can you ? icon_wink.gif

im thinking of voting bnp next time and i dont consider my self a racist i will admit idont agree with everything they stand for but then again i dont agree with everything lab stand for, but when you see things like what happened in luton the other day and this gov do nowt about it then people will start to stand up for themselves and take matters into their own hands right or wrong, i must admit when i saw what was happening in luton i wanted to go down there and confront these people and there is probably many thousands like me all i can say is if they dont like it GET OUT THIS COUNTRY

Some born and Bred cockneys, Welsh, and Irish etc where refused a victory parade earlier this year in Manchester for Utd .......because of what happened a few weeks earlier by Rangers fans. Cost council and tax payer a fortune, so wouldn't do it again.
BNP have history - It would cost us money (tax payers) to prevent trouble happening. Whatever your views on them, they have a stigma attached to them that incites hatred and anger (that can lead to violence).

I've lived and work in germany.
I've lived and worked in the USA.
At my last company we had...
several Chinese, a Vietnamese, a New Zealander, several Indians, a Turkish, a Sri Lankan, a Korean, an Ethiopian, a South African, a Nigerian, one feller moved to Australia and worked for us from there, the one MD was a Greek, the CEO was born in Bermuda, at least 2 Swedes, and a couple of French blokes...oh, and we had a few Brits too.

The fact is, its a global economy now...and its brutal because there is always someone, somewhere prepared to under cut you, as well as it being enriching (in both senses)
There are winners and losers, most folks work hard and a few take the p***. You either embrace it and prosper, or you don't and end up marginalised and unable to compete.

All this "Leigh jobs for Leigh people" or wherever you happen to be from is just BS.

agree with you but what angers me is that the luton muslim demonstrators were breaking the incitement laws by the slogans that were on their banners.
they should not have been allowed to demonstrate in that fashion.

marches and demonstrations are an essentail ingrediant of any democracy as long as they are lawful

After a quick look on the net it appears there was a boat that sunk 2001 with 350 asylum seekers onboard, it happend duing the big crackdown on illigal imigrants and since it has been claimed that the australian navy were responseble for the sinking.
