Reality. Coach Purtill did not get Mata’utia binned at the bash.

I really do not think that affected the result- we were very much on the back foot by that point

A kicking game cost us that game like quite a few this year..Iv said it before we have the worst kicking game in all of rugby league and I bet we've the least return from attacking kicks in all 3 division's

Do you think he told Drew Hutchison that game management is to kick high into Toronto's defence whilst they are facing our own line in those closing mins? Rather than turn them around and make them work 100 yards up field?. Do me a favour. If Purtil had a full head of hair he would have lost it there and then that night.

These players that won so many games under him by the way were not Purtils choice either. Remember that. He worked with the card dealt to him and did a quite remarkable job.

It has earned him another shot as Leigh RL head coach for me.

I agree, you don’t coach players to panic and play daft rugby.

Should you not look to coach it out of them ??

Players are allowed a bit of leeway in their decision making but if they are continually taking the wrong option then you replace them.

I'm sure he would if we had players to change them with because Hutchinson and Reynolds have had no threat to their positions,yes hall could play 6 but he was rubbish at the beginning of the season and nearly walked away from the club at the time it was that bad

A poor half back pairing is another contributory reason for this seasons predicament that many people do over look.

Slow, little creativity, unable to play off the cuff , with poor kicking games and in the case of one , dare I say blowing out of his backside constantly.

I have said it before but invariably if you run with a competitions 4th or 5th best half backs, you end up with 4th or 5th position.
