No matter what day/time we play our games on there will always be people who [ucan't[/u get there through other commitments.
There will be many more who [udon't want[/u to go on a Friday night than a Sunday afternoon though, I think

The proof will be in the pudding. We will see by the end of the season if they have been a success or not. The fixtures have been ratified by the RFL now so can not be changed. Friday nights it is whether you like it or not. Hopefully those that can make it to the games will and not use it as an excuse to have a dig at the club by refusing to attend. Those that can't attend have a genuine excuse. Bring on the season.

| I just hope that supporters don't start attending Swintons games due to it being more convieniant than our own becaue their fans won't reciprecate the favour

Can't see that one being a particular issue to be honest.

| Not this time Alan.
Wont do Friday so no season ticket for me -Touchdown not a sensible option.
If I dont go Fridays will probably watch Thursday's on TV as I pay to Premier Sports which leaves the odd Sunday match, pretty pointless going to the odd match so I will stay away unless the match looks a good one and the weather is fine.
Interestingly our last away match is on a Sunday at LSV but I wont go to that either.
I wish the club well for next season and hope they get out of the financial mire but they will have to do it without my financial contribution to either Touchdown or Lisa which would have totalled over £300.
Will see if any changes are made in the next 3 weeks before I deal with my current payments but to say I am sickened is an understatement. They ask us to rally round and give more money then do this! Are they trying to stop Rugby in the town?

You are absolutely correct, unfortunately though, the proof may not be a pudding, it may be the club going into even more financial trouble.
Crazy decision in my opinion, and apparently in the opinion of most on here. I look forward to hearing the official line on why this has been done, and why we were previously told the games would be on Sundays.

I don't know the reasons yet, jp, but I will ask. In years gone by, the RFL used to ask us (and all other clubs) which days we couldn't play at 'our' stadium. I understand this is no longer the case, as so many clubs are restricted by sharing with football teams, and having grounds re-seeded, that it would be impossible for the RFL to please all the clubs all of the time..
I suspect there is an element of having things forced on us but, as I say, I'll ask the question.

You never know with some people one thing for sure is I won't be attending any of their games other than when play them I hope other Leythers do the same. We own a share of the LSV regardless of it being a community stadium it was built for us & now we're playng 2nd fiddle to Swinton. The LSV was starting to feel like home after our time spent here but now I'm not so sure it feels like our home any more

I realise that some CAN'T go on Fridays - apparently some CAN'T go on Sundays either.
However, I think you'll find that some on here have said they WON'T go on Fridays. (e'g. the person who I was replying to)

How can you watch Thursday nights on TV when you can't watch night matches?
