Trouble is, a lot of 'ex' fans know a lot of potential fans and spread the negative vibes, hence why I think outsiders of the town might fancy it.

Failing that, let's get those positive signals around the town and get changing some attitudes!

One of Blackburn’s reserves has a major influence on the future of Leigh RL, he and myself have an agreement*, similar to a previous Blackburn player and a certain rugby club.

When he’s a super rich namby pamby footballer, he’s going to fund Leigh RL and I’m going to run it.

















*Ok so this agreement was settled on the basis that I’d stop putting his head under water and let him breathe, but nevertheless it was agree.

When is en ex-fan truly an ex-fan? As I've been saying on here since my first ever post being a fan is not black and white. Every GMR-listener has their trigger point to become a paying spectator again.

At the two extremes, for some it may take a SL Grand Final or Challenge Cup Final, for others they will go home and away no matter how low we fall.

In between there is a big long sliding scale ranging between 500 and 10,000. It would seem that I'm a fairly fair-weather fan who bails out at about 2,300!

Basil's appointment just jumped us up the scale by 500 I'd guess.

I wouldn't disagree with that synopsis at all, and with a few quality signings close season I'd guess you could push that to 800/1000.....ish.

I also have to agree. The opportunities for supporters are endless. For myself it could be a night round town with the lads post match or a quiet drink / meal with the mrs. Sundays free for family days or even an extra day round town with the lads...

Friday is still too much of a rush and hard on the awaya supporters, but still prefer to Sundays.

be quite a few that wont be assuming gateshead, toulouse , haven and barrow are all still in the same league
