Poor second half performance from us and we should of had the game wrapped up in the first half. We looked on our feet in the last 20 minutes, maybe this was something to do with only have 1 substitute left for around 15/20 minutes of the game whilst Barrow had a 3/4.

Our attack was dire in the second half when Watson went off, we turned into five drives and a kick when we managed to complete the set. I think we need a Stand Off ASAP, Marsh isn't up to it and neither is Ridyard (yet) and we are going to struggle without one IMO.

Quote: thudder "again do any of you read the qoutes or just see the name watson and go on defensive!!! i said watson as well as others !!! its pedestrian at times and with the ""great"" atmosphere at the ground you can hear the players when we are on an opponents line you hear nothing?? if he cant get young supposedly enthusiastic players to follow him or run for him then thats a problem maybe for him and the coaching team??

Chill out with the comnments on watto i agree we arnt in a position to get anything better BUT he does have to shoulder some of the problems of the inept ideas in attack HE is our playmaker... but then again what do i have an opinion? for am only spending money every week home and away icon_lol.gif

We where very poor against Widnes
We where worse today
This team need three experienced players in key positions
Centre..stand off..loose forward without them this team will always struggle it has no pace no idea how to break the line and they have
players like Marsh who to be frank are baaaaaaaaaadddddddd !!!!

Its heartbreakin for a long time Leyth fan like me to have such a wonderful ground and such a poor team without pace or ideas !!

Why did Kelly make 2 substitutions after 3 minutes of the 2nd half?Cant remember who the forwards were but did not make sense to me.

Also, why is Maden stealing a living? Was he injured throughout the whole of the second half, if so then fair do's but I think not so why could he not be bothered with tackling and chasing back? How many times in the last 12 months has this guy made a break? I wouldnt pay him with washers at the moment.

And whilst I am on one, I am not critising Durbin for his three knock-ons when under no pressure, I wonder why the crowd do not have a go at the wonder boy when the second Watto makes an error he gets absolutely slated for it.

Marsh couldnt tackle a hot dinner in the 2nd half after he came back on after Watsons unfortunate head injury and between him and Maden we could have kept in the game but for poor tackling.

Was it 3 times times we spilled the ball on the first tackle? Inexcusable

Okay, the ref got one or two decisions incorrect however, I felt we got one or two shouts we should not have.

Kelly has to find out why we can play controlled , almost error free rugby with Barrow hardly breaking the line (if at all) in the first half, to then start to fall off tackles, not wrap the ball up in the tackle, looked lethargic, lazy and void of ideas in the second.

What a difference 1 game makes to our thinking of the team.

It could be a lot worse - you could be a Luton fan. Now that is a fall from giffy heights icon_wink.gif

Come on folks we were a million times better in the first half today than last week. I am very optomistic about our future. We were taking a very good team to pieces untill Watto got hurt. The main thing that happened and it happens to the best teams was complacency set in. We stopped getting in their faces like in the first half. We let them run at us. Loose your general and everyone looks to everyone for a new leader. We didnt have one to take over and take the game by the scruff of the kneck. Mistakes started to creep in and a couple of bad decisions and our legs became heavy. I would have liked to see Durbin a halfback after Watto went off. Or at least mix it with Jock to try and get them thinking and not rush our line.

we need to replace Maden & Stewart with some QUALITY, as well as a stand off, and a scrum half.

Definitely need a decent half back very quickly (with experience).

I too thought Maden was very poor today in defence especially. He doesn't look the player he was 3 or 4 seasons ago for sure.

Maden had a quiet game for me, i cant remember the last time Stewart did anything that caught my eye. We really do need a centre as Donlan is ineffective there, we could also do with A. Smith back at loose, and does anyone know if he is still being payed by Leigh and will we see him again.
After the first half i would never have predicted Barrow scoring a try never mind winning, we just went to pieces after the interception. When the bomb went up(which Barrow scored from) none of our players where in a position to take it, would it not be better to let the opposition take it and then tackle them if they managed to take it in without knocking it on themselves?

I have to say the try that came from the bomb looked like it was punched forward by the Barrow player to me but who am I to judge lol icon_lol.gif
