Happens every year with Leigh, when will lessons be learnt?

Well he's lying to you pal as we have a contract with his name on and so do RFL.

This has not been handled very well we should not have released this via Mark Taylor and rest assured it won't be happening again.

That said its a done deal he's a Leigh player for 2014 so let's move on.

I actually think in RL they should stop all this 'x player has signed for x club for next season' (in some cases when half a season is still to be played

Leave it to the off season as it might actually generate some RL column inches in the press.
The RFL need to lead on this rather than clubs as it can effect players performances and fans perceptions of the effort the said player is putting in. In turn this can lead to the player being singled out (which certainly won't help his performances) - its barmy

How about we announce signings when they are able to show up at the LSV and can be given a Leigh scarf and a Leigh shirt for the photo shoot, its that simple.

True we can sign players and have the contracts locked away done and dusted but lets give our signings the maximum publicity they deserve and if someone leaks it then let them , a 'no comment' is a fantastic way of answering any leaks or gossip and keeps people guessing (and talking about the club), we then do a proper press release with photo in shirt etc, etc

I agree with your earlier post about none of this merry-go-round should happen until the off-season.

With the theme of this post though, the club probably can't win. If news of signings is leaked through the press/social media , there will be those demanding the club make a statement and a 'no comment' won't be enough for them.

Spot on Jenky believe it or not we have put a communications structure in place but it was bypassed by one interview after the Fev game Sunday.

It's very important Leigh Centurions TV and our own website gets our News out exclusively and like you say we need to then maximise the exposure on the back of that.

We can't afford to be filtering news out the back door so to speak and diluting good news stories and words have been had and leasons learned over this premature release.

Wasn't his name announced at the LISA meeting?

It was but we were asked to keep quiet about it.

1. I don't believe the coach was asked, I believe he made a statement but I will stand corrected.

2.No it wasn't an anouncement as such just a low profile confirmation of recent rumours that he had indeed signed for us.
