Well obviouly you are not good at maths as you have put two and two together and made 5 .Back in March we were asessed along with other Super League teams and were deemed fit for Super League by the RFL .If our bid was no good then they would have merely told us it was no good like they did with Barrow.
It was never going to be a fair apraisal because we were only being used as a "stick" to make the teams who never bothered with grounds etc over all the years of Super League make some attempt at it.
If our submission was gash then one wonders why we were not told of this in March? It is unlikely our Board will come out with any more criticism of the RFL as they will have been given the hard word as will Gary Etherington or anyone else who speaks out.
I had a message from someone at the INDIPENDANT body which is Supporters Direct saying that they cannot speak out as they are part funded by the RFL so the people who were trying to start up an Indipendant Supporters Trust at Leigh some time back my advice to you is don`t bother.
They will organise a meeting where Rimmer and Robbie Whatsit Paul will tell you how good franchising is how well things are going down at Crusaders and Robbie will tell you to stop paying over the hill Aussies and get your finances in order.
And that is fact I havn`t added up 2plus 2 like you have.

Problem being sir is you've completely misinterpreted the phrase 'met minimum standards'.

'Ticking the box' wasnt meeting minimum standards for an application ala Barrow, Halifax met minimum requirements and were put through to the application process. Their bid was naff, underprepared and the RFL were obviously very disappointed. The RL journalists all know, if you look around you can find a comment or two regarding it

Putting an embargo on reporting something doesn't mean that people with contacts don't find out. We'll see anyhow.

So you are suggesting that the RFL have released details of Fax s application to the press , when Mr wood has stated on TV that the clubs specifically told the RFL not to release such details , and that to make a negative conclusion they must have released details of other clubs applications as well /

I didn't say that at all, dont go all Smokey on the situation.
People in the press have contacts and they talk. People in the press know what went into fax's bid to a large extent. Besides singling out one comment because you cant comment on the rest as its stating the obvious is pretty pedantic and i'd suggest you get a hobby in retirement. People talk, and im telling you that the reason Halifax arent in SL is because their bid was built on sand and it was poorlyput together.

Anyway we'll see when they provide their feedback, after their chairman called the RFL im sure he'd love to share their thoughts and why he's right

But was Wakefields any better? The point is releasing details of our bid wether it is good or bad is not relevant unless you have others to compare with it .
How do we actually know wether ours was better or worse than Wakefields , oh by the way I know a rugby league jouro` myself he writes national and local I have just asked him if ours was a lot worse than Wakefield and he replied "how the f*** would I know.

Journalists always tend to pick the winning team , afterwards , they have as much idea about the contents and relative comparisons as you or me

The RFL can make anything sound good or bad , because the actual process was that subjective ( another Smokeyism ) they could have justified giving Rochdale a licence if they wanted to , no disrespect to the Dale intended

Wakey should have dropped down IMO. Their stadium is worse than most in our league never mind SL. And enough said about their recent financial problems. From the outside looking in I cannot see how Fax would have been much better alternative either, and cannot see how they would add something special to SL. Both clubs would/will add something to our comp though.

If you are sitting in the hot seats around that board room table (with the battle plans and maps of timetable for destroying clubs outside SL ), you can't help but think it would be easy decision to replace Wakey with Fax. As some on here say on seemingly daily basis, joined by the its not fair rant from Fax - I refuse to think they have an agenda against Fax or any other club, and maybe just maybe Fax did not offer the wow factor of a club destined to make its mark on SL in a positive way.
