| It's nothing to do with Leigh Centurions.
It's to do with Ian Millward. He didn't have the best relationship with our junior coaches or young players, many of whom are still at the club.
Our current Rugby manager, Kris Radlinski (who announced & was involved with the Davies' move to Barrow) even said this about him in his autobiography“As much as I respected him, I didn’t feel I got any respect back. Players need to want to play for the coach to be successful.
“Having a coach humiliate some players wasn’t going to win games.
“‘Basil’ took praise when the team won but when they lost it was the players’ fault and that created a bad vibe.”'"

| He wasn't there long enough to create any 'relationships', he certainly built them at Saints and here so who's problem does that make it? I must admit to not looking forward to him coming when his appointment was announced but since he has been here my attitude to him has changed completely and thats the only thing one can 'go off' one's own experience.
If clubs fall out because of differences amongst another clubs personell well it speaks volumes about that clubs standards, or do the words 'being professional' not count anymore.

| I don't think anyone can defend Millward's stint at Wigan. He was in charge of them during their most recent darkest time, weather it was his fault or not, the players and people involved there at the time certainly didn't warm to him, obviously one being Radlinski who was experienced at the time, well respected in the game and who had worked with a lot of coaches. Now he's involved at Wigan around the youth area, he's hardly going to recommend their players to go and play under him. So going off that I can understand why Wigan won't send their youth players to us.
I'm sure Ben would like to play for his home town team rather than travel up to Barrow every other weekend but it's not his choice. We just have to work with what we've got instead of moaning about Wigan. What we have got is a good relationship with Warrington, who are producing the same calibre of players, so we're hardly losing out.

Can whoever has hacked Tommy's account please log off or at least make it a bit more believable and stop posting sense?!

''Being professional''.
It wouldn't be very professional of Wigan to send a young player to a club whose unprofessional coach was sacked from St Helens in such circumstances.
The simple fact of the matter is that Wigan have staff who have worked alongside Ian Millward and believe that his coaching/man management aren't in the best interests for their players as they have experienced it first hand.
There's no more depth to it. It's as simple as that.

Although it could be said that why did Wigan employ him post-Saints?

Because of an even more unprofessional Maurice Lindsay and Dave Whelan.
....And look what happened.

Just chucking a spanner in the works Alex
I think it's better for the players concerned to get somewhat out of their comfort zone and play elsewhere anyway.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

Fortunatley Dean Bell was enough of a gentleman to apologise for his behaviour , he was thouroughly disgusted with mr Wane and his behaviour to representatives of the Leigh Centurions and also the amatuer clubs from Leigh

What did he do that warranted an alleged apology from Dean Bell?
