| We won 3 out of the first 6 beating Stains, Hudds & wire the last 2 quite comfortably. We lost to Leeds in round 3 by 3 points & in round 7 v Wakey we had full control of that game until we lost Drinkwater to injury in the 2nd half. Our pack could control the game better earlier in the the season to how we finished it with the players available. A big factor into why we finished the season in a wimper cos our forwards available weren't up to the level required physically.

We won 3 of the 1 st 6 and were looking very comfortable going to Wakey , whereupon the truly atrocious officiating started
As pointed out above , we ended up a ' busted ' team by the 8s and lost both the players we brought in to bolster the squad , and even then a dropped pass to Matty Dawson with 2 minutes to go at Wire would have seen us safe
Very fine margins , unlike 2005

| Aye, cut to the chase, carve it on a tree, it was a conspiracy by all the incompetent referees that stitched us us.
No dropped balls, no missed tackles, no boring play, no indisciple; all down to the refs ( and RFL)

No conspiracy , just perhaps subconscious bias , the point being we were competitive in all but about 5 games , 2 against Cas , who did much the same to everybody , and strangely 2 against a Danny Craven inspired Widnes , and in tight games a single decision , a single 50/50 going against you can and did cost us wins
But all history now , looking forward to Sheffield next Sunday

| Quote: Harry Stottle "I well recall the games in the SL v Widnes at the LSV they scored 37 points, at their place they scored 36 points, no need apparently to play the system in those games then, when they did play the system they only managed 24 points at the LSV, so 3 short of 100 in 3 games and 3 victories, are you actually criticising Widnes or congratulating them for being so astute? I wish we had been that clever!'"
It's not about there performances against us, it's about performing consistently over 7 weeks to achieve the goal - which they did and we didn't, and I expect the same this year to Toronto's loss

| While we all want to talk about Widnes in Super League let us.
Widnes “should” have been the games which hauled us out of the mess but what did we see? Widnes played rugby the correct way. They scored their pints and then did what all successful teams do. They kicked us to death. The put the ball out on 10 meters and basically said if you’re going to score then go for it but you’re going the full length.
That didn’t help by having one of the worst wingers imaginable in Dawson.
Super League was brilliant for the ride. But we had a coach who wa spur of his depth who only survived because he got us promoted. A lot of fans wouldn’t have a word said about him because he led us to the promised land. He’s an absolute chancer who now isn’t coaching rugby league.
Funny. If he was that good he’d be an assistant somewhere or trying to salvage his name.

| Bet everyone who was happy Rowley left would have him back now.
Some of the best rugby I’ve seen at Leigh. Probably only topped by Milward.
Wonder whether we’ll ever know what happened with him.

| Like the man or not his style of play was excellent. I’m not bothered about what he’s like off the pitch. He got Leigh winning matches playing exciting rugby.

And failed when it mattered , probably due to arrogance

Plan A - good - expansive.
Plan B - None
Plan C - None
(Just watch the Toronto v Warrington game)
