| Leythers, your disappointed with your teams performance because you were expecting a walkover. Fev stood up,
showed some idea and creativity and had a dig. For full timers you looked disorganised and sluggish.
Your missing the Ridyard,Brierley, MacNally combo of cutting through teams with speed.
Do you fear Beaumont is dictating to Jukes who you sign. Rowley seemed to be building nicely.

953.jpg 2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!:953.jpg |

| We have a different coach, with different ideas and his own views on what he wants. Will it be working well enough for the 8s? He has 6 weeks left. Let's not forget while we had a great run of scintillating rugby and high scoring games we game up massively short when tested at SL level and the then coach was unable to lift the team for the last 6 and a half games of the 8s ie everyone who we had already beaten that year beat us with ease (except eagles). I am happy to accept this at the moment if it is a means to an end. Sentiment is not needed, after all it looks like Pownall, Beswick and Kay are off to Toronto and Ridy may not be far behind. I would like to think they would still give their all for the club if required but the coach has the final word. Listen to his interview on LCTV post Fev.

| I did appreciate the entertaining sometimes scintillating rugby or Rowley's reign. Cheers.

[quote="Steve":1xb0p6sn] Dislike Leigh with a passion, but they are a million miles ahead of any other club in this league, a sad fact. [/quote:1xb0p6sn]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_24148.jpg |

We are disappointed with our performance because our performance was extremely disappointing.
We gave up so much ball and position through soft penalties and constant errors that we were forced to defend our line for huge chunks of the match. Luckily the defence was pretty good as any team that has as many sets on our line as Fev did has no excuse for not winning that match.
Yesterday was as bad as we have played in a long time so to still come away with the 2 points is pleasing... and a bit of a relief!

And what would any coach worth their salt have said after the whitehaven game? Or are we going to change the halves every week?

Healthy competition is great, when you have it in abundance you simply have to perform to keep the shirt. Burns did enough at Whitehaven to warrant his place yesterday granted, the question for the coach worth his salt is did Burns do enough to keep hold of it for another week?
Ridyard was in fine form prior to being 'dropped' - Does he deserve a chance again?
It is probably irrelevant as we know the answer.

i don't think it's something that should be reviewed on a match by match basis, the coach needs to decide what his best half back pairing will be and stick to it. In my opinion Drinkwater would be first choice, with little to choose between the other 3.

| Have to feel a bit disappointed with that performance however there are positives to take out of it when you think about it. Last week at Whitehaven our defence was woeful, a side even slightly better could have scored at least 4 more trys than Haven the gaps we had in our line. After that game I can understand if Jukes spent all last week focused on a solid defence & that's what we had. Defence has been our weakness this season but yesterday we defended solidly against a Fev side with a lot of go forward. Fortunately Fev didn't seem to have much to offer in attack once they got within 10 m as we are very bad at defending that & conceded yet another try from dummy half 5 m out and even more annoyingly conceded a try after we'd eased off thinking the game was won, which we really need to stop doing. Our attacking play was poor though, however with key players going off injured it's understandable why instead we'd opt to shore it up defensively and not try anything too flamboyant & that worked. Hopefully next week we'll see some good attacking play back again which we have been improving the last few weeks & combine it with the defence we showed yesterday. We're not there yet & time is running out but we've seen we can do it when we have to.
