As a neutral I honestly didnt think the spear tackle was as bad as people are making out. Anyone who has played the game will know its simply one of them times where another players momentum ends up making the tackle look really bad, you can tell from the players reactions that it looked worse than it was in fact its almost a text book tackle the way the Sheffield player starts the tackle. Its bad and deserved something, maybe 10 minutes would have been right but there certainly does not seem to be an intent to injure in the tackle.

Did McNally really end up in hospital after that tackle? Its late and high but Ive watched it about 10 times and theres no swing and looks like a flat hand. Maybe he falls awkwardly or something.

May not have been intent to injure the player, but still deserved a red card for the spear tackle and at least a yellow for the high shot.

Haha! Good effort, GFB. I'll give you 6/10 for that provocation attempt. Quite subtle.

Either way GFB the spear tackle is illegal,and thats a stiff arm any day of the week.The only time you see a flat hand is after the incident.

Undecided about the red for the spear, certainly a yellow and totally agree with regards the late tackle. Although again not as bad as some are making out I think thats possibly more a sending off than the spear tackle.

If I were trolling I wouldnt have bothered watching the video numerous times. Just my honest opinion that is all.

So GFB if it had happened to one of your players you wouldn't have been shouting from the roof tops about it or if one of our players had done it. Again please give your honest opinion.

I would be going mad at the time but in the cold light of day with all the evidence there for all to see I wouldnt still be making it out like they were the two worst tackles I have ever seen.

So if it had happened to one of your player by a Leigh player you wouldn't be on here today complaining about it, again be honest.

Having watched it umpteen times I don't think it was a spear tackle, yes he was rolled over but landed on his back. Red a bit harsh for me.

If you take my first post on the matter and take out the neutral part of it I would hope that I would say the same. I try to call it as I see it. Back to the spear tackle going back a few years its almost inches away from what people would be calling a textbook tackle, straight on his back and it would have been fine but these days its obviously illegal.

Player reactions are often a good indicator and I think the reactions of most of the players even when the lad is walking off say it all really.
