Well done , Leigh. I was very disappointed not to be able to make the trip up for this one, but it looked amazing on the box. Will there ever be a Leigh team that doesn't do things the hard way (on my heart)?

Charlie was very happy with the result for me the MoM was Dixon I thought he got through a great amount of work both in attack and defence ,a very good addition to the team , once again Ryan B's passing game was so impressive, you made a Clown smile today. icon_thumb.gif

Quote: Nozzy "That was bloody brilliant. We didn't half put ourselves under pressure with silly errors and penalties but we stood up in defence and held our own.

Fair play to Rowley and the boys, we stuck to our usual free flowing, swing it wide, attack from anywhere style of play and Salford couldn't handle us at times. Takes some balls to play like that against a top 4 side from a division above and it paid off in the end.

Beswick, Emmitt, McNally and Spencer were sensational.

My voice has well and truly gone
Well said Nozzy - excellent summary.
All the team gave everything to the cause today
Tom Spencer is back to his best and will be a major force for the remainder of this season - following on from an excellent 2014 up to his very unfortunate injury.
I singled out Bob Beswick for his awesome full 80 performance at Sheffield last week but to back it up with another top drawer full 80 this week was very very special. He is some athlete - his commitment and class was an example to all today.

Dixon did well but for me' although all the lads did their bit our outstanding players were Beswick and Emmit.

Fantastic performance today. Much will be made about Salford's injuries - the one to Dobson being particularly crucial - but I just wonder how patched up our team was? Already missing Moimoi, Penkywicz, Wilkes and Acton, we had one man on the bench who wasn't used at all (Worthington) and two heavily strapped up forwards (Hock and Aspinwall) who played fairly minor roles of say 20-25 minutes each. For me, that made the performance of our pack incredible, with Beswick, Dixon and Goulden all putting in 80 minutes and Spencer, Barlow, Emmitt and Hopkins putting in long stints.

It's been said that Salford's forwards got on top, in the second half, but who was it who took home winning pay? icon_wink.gif

As I said in my original post Alan, just after halftime the Salford pack seemed to be getting on top, but Leigh had the brains then to move it wide at every opportunity and it paid off, Salford could not handle it.
To me it was only when Leigh got in front that the Leigh forwards started taking it back up the middle to keep it safe.

This was not a criticism I was just pointing what I thought was a great change of tactics in my eyes by Leigh.

I wasn't born and bred rugby league and I'm still learning, but i reckon i have come of age because i thought Dixon was MOM as well! It seemed to me he was first in every tackle! and you know your onions charlie!

Also agree about Ryan B,but then i would!

Watched the game in a pub over here,by the end ,half of the pub was cheering us on! icon_biggrin.gif

That was something to be really proud of. When you came to Headingley in the cup last season, we only got past you due to superior Super League fitness. Watching yesterday, I thought you might befall the same fate, but your players dug deep and got the deserved victory.

What an absolutely top effort from our boys eusa_clap.gif
Salford were certainly without key players but so were Leigh.
My mom has to be Bob Beswick. As another poster pointed out, two top quality back to back 80 minute games from Bob is a mammoth effort. When I saw that Penky was out I really worried that we would of course miss his dynamic play and speed from the play the ball, but even more I was worried that after the Sheffield game Bob would be unable to sustain another 80 mins of his best against SL opposition. How wrong I was icon_biggrin.gif
Bob Beswick, take a bow eusa_clap.gif
That said every player was immense today. Jake Emmitt was a very close second for mom for me, but every man in red and white deserves a mention.
Not forgetting our brilliant Coach, and his team on the sidelines and behind the scenes.
What a team, what a coach, what a game, and what a set of supporters of course
Oh and not forgetting that's 21 unbeaten now icon_cool.gif

Watched game in a bar in Turkey, really gutted couldn't be there. About 12 other people in bar also. Only me sat there in my Leigh shirt watching the game, the others where watching some proxy premier league game. Due to my continuous shouting and jumping up and down like a lunatic, one by one they started joining me and getting involved in the game. Think there are a few converts this morning. Fantastic Day. Well done Leigh. Oh just checked my paddy power bet at 100/1, only £2.50 e/w but I can cash out now for £8.50. Think I might just let it ride a bit longer. icon_cool.gif icon_cool.gif

Very well done Leigh cannot begrudge you such a great win. Forgive me but I fear this will widen the gap on us lesser teams now but you are well worth the result. What is the secret to your success (apart from the obvious Fax link lol - tongue firmly in cheek).

The way you have built such a great side is truly admirable and how does Rowley unlock the potential missed by other e.g Karl Harrison with Beswick and Barlow. Insane!

Good luck flying the flag. Great bunch of fans Leigh and always sing loudly at the Shay!
