strange still nobody coming back with a valid response to brearleys quote 'im a Leigh player until the end of the year' ?? come on guys dont you find it a bit strange ?
I'm expecting it to get deleted actually when the club get a sniff of it.....the fact is the whole new 3 year contract is a red herring because the club hope/expect that a SL will come calling and have to pay a fee to cover that term.....good move by the club but should have really told the player to play along with it too....

Roy Ryan tweeted a response 'he knows how long his contract is for but maybe he never thought you would put two and two together to make five.

Why not ask him the question directly that you keep posting on here ?

He quoted that exact to the word so where is the confusion for him ? and you for that case ?

I had read Ryan's tweet' he is signed up to a full time contract next season.

You are still not getting it but tweet him and ask him where he is going and he might tell you.

I don't need to tweet him he has already tweeted being under contract
until the end of the year. I get it but what part of that dont you get ?

I admire the fans for their belief in what quotes comes out of the club but
its a bit bizaare when the player is tweeting to a 'rumoured' interested
club' words along the lines of "Im out of contract at the end of the season"?

If he were to go into SL with a Yorkshire club, it would have to be on a spectacularly better contract than the one he was on with his last Yorkshire SL club!

He didn't say 'I'm out of contract at the end of the year', he said 'I'm fully committed to the Centurions till the end of the year'.

The fact is that Ryan has a 3 year contract, however, should he offered a deal he couldn't refuse then said club would have to pay us a fee to get him and I doubt very much that the Board would stand in his way.

However, Ryan knows he is instrumental to our plans and he would be a fool to go to a SL club to play in their reserves when he could help steer us to the promised land.

Personally I don't think Ryan will go anywhere...yet.

Ryan can't be 'offered' a deal, the club can be offered a fee that they can accept or decline and then the contract talks left to the player or not
What is quite obvious here is that our club don't need the money from Derek's statement and if we want that to remain the case we should just carry on as we are doing by backing them through the gate and spreading the word to the lapsed and new fans
The atmosphere at our last home game was as good as any Leigh game I have ever watched, LSV with a crowd in is a great place to be

Regardless of how it happens, the board wouldn't stand in Ryan's way should he want to move on and they got a decent offer for him, would they?

Look contracts mean nothing at the end of the day. Ryan has a 3 year contract but does that mean we can say with any degree of certainty he will definitely be a Leigh player at the end of his deal. No we can not.

And that's the same for all the Leeds RLFC players and every other contracted player.

If Rob Burrows has a 4 year contract but says he wants to leave Leeds at the end of the season and no longer wants to wear a Leeds shirt , it is very difficult for the Leeds club to then keep an unhappy player to the length of his contract.

That's the way of the world.

John Woods was captain, play maker and all round star man of Rugby League's title winning team. Therefore he was already playing in the best team in Great Britain in 1982.

Why would he wanted to have played for a lesser team like Leeds or St. Helens? Unless of course he does not value his Rugby League Championship winning medal because let's be perfectly honest here, he would not have won one with them teams that's for sure
