I personally think that the statement is more than adequate at this moment in time. What else could they do? John has released it before they could have. Does look like they have been caught on the hop but I would hope that the club and John can release a more detailed joint press statement in the not too distant future. The ship really did look to have been steadied when John took over as chairman and I thank him for all his hard work. Big shoes to fill but I am confident that there is someone who can do it.

in fact, JR's action here seems to be the only unprofessional thing he has done in his tenure - which seems strong evidence to me that something is up.

Don't think we have anything to worry about regarding financing the club as long as Derek is still involved. He'll be pulling the strings from behind the scenes. I doubt he'll take over as chairman at the present time.

Having read some of the posts that John has put on Twitter, it certainly seems like he has left on good terms and purely because of work commitments - something that may well have been a sudden decision by necessity looking at a contract his company have just won.

Sounds like you know his long term plans. Is he increasing his contribution and his stake? Is that what this is all about? One off player bonuses from DB's deep pockets to win the changing room? Out with the new, in with the old? If not, that's certainly what this smells like. I hope not, but have always worried that the old guard would bide their time, rebuild their power base and then slowly but surely sweep aside the 'big ideas men'.

But if he's got enough brass then what's to worry about?
