The dinner thing was just an observation I made last Sunday at the Toby Carvery where I noticed atleast 6 people with differing rugby shirts on eating their sunday dinner. I personally don't like the Sunday KO but if we did this, instead of just me and my brother going to games, our parents would come, our other brother, grandparents etc. There must be millions of ideas.

If I was on the BOM I wouldn't be subsidising coaches to an away game that we're going to get screwed out of on the ticket side, I'd be subsidising something that would attract people to Leigh the week after and screwing the visiting team out of ticket sales.

OK, so you suggest we DO something, but you dont know what it is?

As for the subsidised away travel for us, I agree, spend the cash on bringing more people into our stadium, not theirs

So the answer is to set your playing budget at ' X ' and give that to your coach, then set your marketing budget at ' Y ' and give that to your marketing dept, although personally Id set the marketing budget 1 st

This is correct Frank as I stated Paul identifies the players he would like to strengthen his squad and plays an active roll in dealing with player and his agent. Nobody from the BOD would interfere with this process unless Paul requires the support or back up and requests it. Obviously our Football And Finance Directors agree the numbers but the coach is responsible for who comes and goes as at the end of the day the book stops with the coach so they have to be master of their own destiny.

I believe we have signed well for next year up to now and the budget Paul has got has been increased from this years thanks to investment by the BOM our strategic partners and new revenue raising initiatives. Rest assured though we are self sustainable and won't spend money we haven't got and won't threaten the clubs future by overspending and budgeting incorrectly so the only way we will be able to spend big is if we get bums on seats like Steve Pike rightly says.

We launch the new Shirt very soon and some great ticketing initiatives and will professionally market these pretty much as soon as 2013 season ends were away for 2014 full steam ahead so please spread the word and help the BOD hit the targets we have set.

By achieving our targets and goals together we believe we will have the best possible chance next season and beyond as we are not here to tread water we genuinely want SL and are working to medium and long term goals in order to achieve this goal.
