| Which is in today's financial climate about 11 too many.

| Quote: Ganson's Optician "It is SKY money keeping every professional rugby league club alive.'"
But some more than others, eh? The Championship clubs get money from the RFL, which is probably from the SKY contract.

| I see that Salford see tomorrow's game with Swinton, as "an opportunity to put much needed funds into the bank." I would have thought last week's game with us would have put at least as much money in there? Also, there is no mention of a game against us next week, on their website.
As an aside to this game, I give you a section of the RFL preview of Salford v SwintonSwinton Lions have signed six players on a dual registration from Warrington Wolves.
Brad Dwyer, Ryan Shaw, Danny Bridge, Gene Ormsby, Jordan Burke and Gavin Bennion will all make their debuts in tomorrow’s friendly against Salford City Reds at the Salford City Stadium.
“They are all quality players who have come through the ranks at Warrington and we are delighted to have them on board," said coach Steve McCormack.[/i
What was the maximum on D/R's?

Under current arrangements, the Championships clubs are allowed to field a maximum of four dual-registered or loan players under the new partnership.
But then again if your a 'Super Dupper' club who cares what the rules are?

| That's just a limit on how many you can have in your match day 17 rather than in your overall squad though.

We had the option of fielding 4 DC players last season albeit they did not have to be from 1 club.
Swinton have not been playing in Swinton for a long time and I wonder what we would have had for a fan base had we not been playing in Leigh for so long.
Lets hope they get their ground in Agecroft soon.

I too am impressed by the way Swinton have survived all these years, away from their home. A new home is now within reach, and I hope they can now flourish. I can remember when they were a top club, fielding several internationals and were feared by all. Some of our SL bretheren would do well to remember 'what goes around, comes around.' (or words to that effect!)
The purpose of my post was not to have a dig at Swinton, more the RFL rules, which appear to be ever changing. For example, the number of 'over age players' allowed on the Under 20's has already changed twice, which must be frustrating, when you have had to release players over the age of 20, only to discover you could actually have kept them in the first place!
