I think he is a very shrewd aquisition to the squad if I am perfectly honest.

For me ,if ther is a down side to this signing, its probably going to be ant nicholson who slips down the pecking order.

I think he will be played at scrum half.

Our squad seems solid (without DC's ) but a fast winger would be a nice addition.

All down to wether or not we get injuries imo.

Players in positions 1 to 6 will be same as last season.

Penky will start at 9.

The rest will be down to PR but I think Brierley Beswick and 2 forwards on the bench.

Sorry Frank i was thinking Beswick starting at 13,Penky at 9,Coyle & Riddy at 6& 7,they could then inter change which would allow you two props ,a secondrow/centre and Brierley on bench.

Give him a chance-yes.But i hope kes and nico dont get pushed out of the 17 because of him.Let him prove himself first.by starting off in the u23s.[how many overage players are allowed in u23s by the way?

Well we all have our personal preferences as to who should play where.

We should always go with our best 17 in my view.

Our coaching staff are paid to select the team and decide on that.

Look at our props. Now you are our coach and may' if you wish take Tom Spencer from Wigan for a particular game.

My preference would be to sign another experienced prop on contract.
If we'd have had Hoppy and parker vs Sheffield i think we'd have won the game,we shouldn't leave ourselves short again.
If wigan rate spencer that much then they should DC him to a lower end SL club.

Welcome aboard Tommy Coyle. Think he will definately add something to our squad/team and we will certainly
have plenty of attacking options next year. For me our squad is looking very strong so far but I would like to see an extra winger and a big prop to finish off our recruitment. Didn't Coyle miss pretty much all of last season through a nasty injury? What injury was it? Hopefully won't affect his performances for us.

Didnt realise he was so young tbh - good mix of youth and experience in him.

I think he has primarily been brought in as cover bearing in mind he can play half back or hooker - it's good to have that competition and will certainly keep the likes of Riddy, Beswick, Penky, Nicholson and Brierley on their toes if and they now know that if they lose form then they can be replaced very easily. Also if we get injuries next year - what crippled us last year - they are now well covered.

For me, nobody is guaranteed a place in the 17 out of the players mentioned and that is a VERY good thing to have, we've got fantastic option at playmaker and I think that is well catered for now. More 'grunt' and pace now please Rowley!
