| Quote: mark richardson "Ha,thanks a lot.
Its good to see that in the majority the true sense of rugby league prevails. Humour friendship and team work.
As for our crowds being in a downward spiral I would say that fact is true of most clubs. However Swintons Im sure have seen a huge increase this season, maybe 30-50% up on the previous seasons corresponding fixtures.
Scooter Nick I think you are presenting your opinion as fact. Cheer up mate.'"
Mark,
A serious question - do you believe there is any mileage in a joint ticketing initiative, if it's attractive enough to the fans?
I'm not really interested in who would benefit most, as I see it as a win-win for both clubs.
I know there would be resentment amongst Leigh fans, who are paying full price if we let your fans in for say a fiver, but if we made the offer to s/t holders only, surely we would both benefit, as these would be 'new' fans for both clubs?

| Agree with it....if you got a season ticket - you get in the other clubs match for £5.
This would increase attendance figures and may tempt people to buy season tickets also.....win win situation IMO.
Dont forget that if we do apply for SL next time around we still need to tick the box for attendances - 2500 average is needed in either of the next 2 years, as we fell short this past season.

I just cant see what harm it could possibly do. Full price you wouldnt go,fiver you might go to a few games.

Agree, but how do you police it in an all ticket arena, eg get a Swinton ST for £140 then buy 30 tickets at a fiver for each Leigh game.
If we can cover the loopholes ie a cash gate to flash the ST, then its a no brainer.

| Jeez, I realise you lobbies are in a bit of a hole right now but its getting far too depressing on here. Welcome your rugby league brothers and sisters from swinton with open arms.

| From my visits to the LSV as i remember it was all done online so surely you create an account as a season ticket holder and if you want to go to the other teams game you log on, print off your one cut price ticket entitlement, and go to the game ?
I never realised that this was a conspiracy theory.....

Blimey, I suggested the joint initiative as a modest money maker for both clubs. We certainly need any cash we can get, at the moment - how about you guys?
IMO, Championship clubs should seek every opportunity to work together - we can't afford to be enemies off the pitch.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

Quite correct , but in all honesty I just couldn't see many Swinton fans traveling to Leigh to watch us , the fact they are going to play at the LSV has no actual bearing on why they should or should not travel
A couple of years ago a few of us went to Sedgley Park to watch the Lions take on Fax , and there are a few Leythers who regularly watch neutral teams playing , but in those situations they should still pay full whack IMO
In this situation I could only see Swinton benefiting , which isn't a bad thing , I have a soft spot for them , and they would be my choice of club if I didn't follow Leigh , but full money should still be paid I'm afraid

| If people want to do that with Swinton we may aswell say any other ST holder of any club get the same deal providing you show your in date season ticket too the ticket office. But still charge the away team full price

| Well sadly human nature being what it is this idea is a no goer.
Lots of Leigh fans would not be happy with paying full price and a Swinton fan getting in on the cheap.

| I agree Frank unless the Championship make it a reciprocal agreement between all clubs.

| What about playing a number of Leigh & Swinton games as double-headers and selling tickets for individual matches only or a few quid extra for both. Tickets for both games in specific sections of the main stand so that other areas can be cleared out between games as normal, and takeup of the offer can be monitored from the ticketing. Swinton fans would already be travelling for their own game so would just have to decide whether to stay (or arrive early, whichever) for the Leigh game when they buy tickets.
I'm sure we could find a way of sharing facilities in the main stand to make it work (maybe corporate tickets sold to both clubs & get both games thrown in anyway, or if both clubs insist on their own corporate tickets, bars etc for entertaining Leigh could get use of the upstairs bar & Swinton the Legends bar or something). I'm sure by doing that you could cut down on the overheads for both clubs if you assume it's probably cheaper to keep already open bar/stand/catering facilities open for 3 or 4 more hours than to open & staff them twice on 2 separate days.
Should add that the double-header tickets would represent better VFM to a neutral or to those who complain about admission prices of champioship games and could therefore use it as an offer to try and attract neutrals, new fans or lapsed fans through the gates depending on where & how you pitch it.

Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book :Others/NA.JPG |

There's real money to be saved/made in this.
Unfortunately, I can't see it happening
