We had consistent good form between 2000 and 2004 , our attendances dropped , if anybody who is a ST holder decides to not come next season because of 1 game , then they don't deserve to follow RL or the Leigh club

Ok read it again.......IMO we`ve had a very consistent season overall, might not have been the end of season we`d have hoped for but it`s been the best season for a number of years and a joy to watch.
I applaud the players and coaching staff for the memories of the 2011 season and look forward to 2012.
Bytheway I`ll be getting my ST as usual.....It`s alll about being a Leyth fan , it`s not mean`t to be an easy ride.

If you expect the public to feel great about what I've just witnessed on replay then you're unrealistic. This was not the same side we got so excited about

The club had a coach and a captain. They both visibly nailed their colours to castlefords mast before the season end. (club captain wearing cas shirts round town)

I just wish I'd bet on the inevitable results of such public disloyalty.

Two years ago we got 'relegated'.

This season we came 2nd, 1 league defeat all season, played some amazing rugby, and won the NR Cup.

In any other situation that would be called progress.

Herein is the evidence that you can never manage a club

This is so much at odds with all the sensible stuff you spout about rl management in general that I must assume u were 'tired and emotional'

My side finished 3rd in the league (our best position since the 1994-95 season), and I still stormed off before the end of our game against Halifax in the play-offs two weeks ago. Basically, I was thoroughly disappointed with our performance, the attitude of our coach in the latter part of the season, and therefore wanted out. I'm sure the players didn't miss me applauding them off the field when they were picking up the wage packets that I had contributed to all season. Sounds harsh, but I'm afraid its true. When your team puts in a below par performance, or loses thanks to the same old failings that have gone before, then its frustrating. Just because a fan hasn't remained in the ground, slapping together their flippers like a performing seal until even the litter-pickers have departed, doesn't make them a 'bad' fan.

Given a longer HT break, as per ALL tv games, then the 10m injury stoppage, and given a lot of fans on this board live outside the town as well, i reckon time deadlines had a lot to do with people leaving when they did.

You really need to think things through

I treat each game as I see it. If they deserve clapping off I will, last night they didn't. Most of the season we have and my hands and voice were sore for days after Blackpool. As said before, I paid my money and its my choice. I left just before the hooter. One thing I don't do and never ever will though is boo the players. Great season, disappointing end. Now lets hope we can sort things financially over the coming months. Widnes did it, I'm sure we can.

Had we had a average and disappointing season, and last game was against better opposition and won, no doubt more would have stayed behind. That's what sports fans do - short memories. Each to their own.
Personally unless the team has won a trophy or had a special season I don't think the players should make a last game of season thanks apart from the usual after the game applauds for support.

Some emotional posts on here, some aimed at the wrong direction, and some not.

Should not be any slanging matches. We need some soliderity now, because any true fan wil know that there is a distinct possibility that we will become whipping boys next season.

The ref was not too bad but he got some decisions wrong.

1 - He was right to penalise Hill for what was a stupid lazy flop. Problem is, Henderson did this most of the game and it went unpenalised. Once the tackle is made, just one hand justifies a flop !

2 - Linesman bottle it on Yere's tackle on Donlan. A fair, hard justified hit turned into a spear tackle. He should have walked !!

Problem is, we didn't go for 2 points to square it at 8-8, lose the plot, and Yere supplies the break and pass 10 mins later for Sheffield to break our hearts !!

You knew then that it was not going to be Leighs day.!!

The booing was aimed at the ref and not the players

I recall big league and play off gates v Widnes, Salford, Oldham, Hudds and others during that time, great CC crowds v Salford and Wigan plus a magnificent away turn out at Wire.
I recall the 2004 disaster and the 2005 debacle that followed - we never recovered from that, we were clueless and gripped with infighting.
We need a new dawn and a new unity, 1000 fans paying £20 a month for season ticket/shirt will see us right in 2012. We need every passionate and proud Leyther behind keeping this club alive - we have no time for division.
