Last season they signed Morrison because they offered him more money that we could. Next season they are making a go of it in the Championship. They have no debt like we have and their costs are much lower than ours because they don't have a mill stone like the LSV around their necks. We have to reduce our wage bill drastically while they can afford to increase their wage bill drastically. They will be offering contracts for next season, we will be offering pay as you play terms. No brainer for players really, Leigh won't be an attractive proposition. We will have to wait until December to see what players can't get contracts elsewhere and are willing to sign on our terms. |

1. Not aware that we have any debt
2. They are looking at playing at the LSV next season
3. Pay as you play contracts could be more valuble than standard contracts - just don't get injured - and win

1: Well documented that there will be a significant short fall at the end of the season. No one to pay that shortfall off yet, so we will go into next season in debt. Therefore the club will have to cut their cloth to suit next season in order to keep going and pay off that debt. Fact.
2: Blackburn Rovers currently play at the LSV and have a considerably better deal than Leigh Centurions. Any other teams that want to play at the LSV should be able to negotiate a similar deal. Fact.
3: Our playing budget will be significantly cut next season due to "paying within our means". Leigh will not be paying out on big contracts or big pay as you play deals. Fact.
4: I only deal in facts.

Tbf the players won't give a hoot where fans are linking them as only them / agents know where they are looking.
As for the club, if a player isn't signed up before 1st September their is always a very good chance they will be spending next year elsewhere. |

ps a tip for anyone wanting to see who else the Lions are speaking to for next season. Keep bobbing into Birch services West on the M62. A popular place for meetings between agents and members of the Swinton coaching staff/board. It's amazing what people overhear whilst supping a skinny hazelnut latte.
