Listen I can't believe that even Leigh would be so stupid to announce the signing of a player before he's even signed. I think the lad is edging his bets in case he doesn't get his permit.
The problem is that if Leigh now come out fighting (so to speak) and make him look like a liar he'll probably change his mind anyway!

Lets be honest here, this would be stupidity from a number of people at Leigh that just doesn't add up.

Edging bets or not I would hope the contract is now in the bin as his "commitment" to Leigh is for all to see.......... if indeed the Aussie press can be trusted

who has ever mentioned any anti bias against Leigh? are you as thick as you write on here? you can apply for a visa but it doesnt have to be granted or are there too many syllables in that for you? try and keep up

Is everyone forgetting about the Tongans of a couple of years ago here? Leigh have got as much form for jumping the gun as the Aussies have for whatever they've got form for

different scenario though Matt and to be fair the original press (and all others) have said dependant on visa clearance, its unfortunate that the club have given the usual culprits ammunition again

Not sure if the Tongan situation mentioned "subject to visa clearance" but at least we appear to have learned from that one, even if it just means a slight alteration to the press release, as mentioned.

Just to clarify all this, from the clubs point of view we have allegedly signed a player dependant on visa clearance, but the player himself has had no dealings directly with the club and has confirmed in the press that he knows nothing about it. The club have, by the looks of things dealt with a third party regarding signing this player and no contracts have been signed.

So just one question?

Why has a contract not been signed by the player in the first instance prior to releasing this news?

That in theory would have solved all this crap, then if he does'nt get clearance its the only way he is'nt coming to Leigh.

But to put yourself in the position we have without a signed contract between both parties unfortunately deserves to be slated, it is just unprofessional.................simple as.

Or a bloke who's been put under pressure by his club/peers down there who didnt know anything about it in the first place, and wanted to say what people wanted to hear?

Who knows?

There's more to this than meets the eye but for once I dont think the club are to blame.
