Brian was one of the best ticket sellers I have ever seen. He worked his socks off to persuade fans to buy tickets he was selling. As a match day seller or an agent for the Pools scheme he was one of the best. Leigh R.L.possessed many outstanding pools agents but Brian, as I say was one of the very best.
I remember his wife passing -that was sad and Brian took it bad.
Brian deserves an accolade, he was a ticket selling genious and he will be sadly missed by his many friends.

A sad loss - his voice ringing out round the LSV last season was beginning to make the place feel like home! Condolences to his family and friends.

Not a regular poster, but this has moved me to login and pass on my respects.
In the last 20 years of supporting Leigh, Brian seemed like a reassuring constant in ever changing team, staff, ground and fortunes.
A true character and legendary voice.
Like the above poster put so succinctly,
"halftime draw just won't be the same".
He once sold me the winning ticket as well ;0)
RIP.

Maybe the club could honour Brians memory by having a trophy produced in his honour. Every pre-season the club could arrange a fixture where the two teams play for the Brian Ward memorial trophy. A fitting tribute that would be remembered every pre-season.
edit. or even, the "Brian Ward Memorial" man of the match trophy, to be awarded after every home game.

Just heard this news, very sad. His voice was a constant in all the time I've supported this club, through thick and thin.
He was obviously extremely passionate and must've raised a substantial amount of money over the years.
