| Are the terms and conditions of use printed on the season tickets?
There is usually a clause in them that reads to the effect that 'the club reserves the right to alter or change the day, time, or date of any game and that the said season ticket gives the holder admittance to that game, yet no refund will be given if that game is not attended.' (or something similiar), thats the reason in all the years I was working shifts I never bought one, as its usually a standard clause.

Nothing like that, Fred. Mind you, have you seen the size of the 'swipe-card' ST?

| Personally i think people just need to get down to the LSV and see the improvements that have been made on the pitch, a couple of years ago when still at Hilton Park my wife went to every home game and a few away games and she had always tried to get me to go (as my mentality was Footbal Football Football) i final gave in and thoroughly enjoyed it and have been to every home game since and a season ticket holder for the past 2 seasons.
The point being when i started watching Leigh they werent doing that well but i stuck with it, now where sat at top of the League and playing some fantastic Rugby, this is the time to yes as someone said earlier on let people with season tickets bring a friend for free, or even half price.lets say their is 500- 1000 season ticket holders so possibly 1000 extra people who you would get through the turnstiles and lets say 10% of people that are brought came back there is 100 extra people and even if you say half price an extra £7000 gate money.
Another point is all them kids that came in the south stand in the Barrow game my lads was there and cuase me and my wife already had season tickets we asked another of the parents of my lads team to go with them, the other parent has now been to the last 2 home games and asked me when next home game was she cant wait.
Its all about getting past supporters or new fans down to the LSV to see and enjoy the towns Professional Rugby team kicking ass on the field.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

As it wasn't that good on the pitch , what exactly was it that you enjoyed so much to make you return ?

Each day is different, Saturday for example would see 1,000 from us, Thursday? not sure if it wasnt on TV. It's still a tough day work wise for a lot of people.

IIRC, the poll I did last year returned quite strongly that Sat 6pm was likely to return an increase in the gate compared with Sun pm.

Very good to hear, glad they like you enjoyed it enough to come again.
Could I ask which club you're with?
Just goes to show if we can get people down to taste whats on offer then some will return.

The only problem with a poll on here is that most of those who vote would probably go whatever day we played.
We need to somehow get an idea of how many ADDITIONAL fans we could get by moving the KO day / time.

rlYou do realise that your talking to mutant with extra fingers, 3033 - 2246
So you can knock off at least 200 and odd off anything he says.

If I was to assume the CEO position tommorrow at Leigh Centurions the 1 st thing that would be arranged would be the collection of data of our existing fan base , the club already have access to ST holders , Lifeline members and no doubt if they asked the relevant information of LISA members , that would account for about 50 % of our regular home attendee's , so the college would then be approached with a ' data collection ' and marketing project that would involve getting names and addresses [ e mail and mobile no's ] from the fans queing up to enter the LSV with individually bought tickets
Once you have this information you can then ask your customers as many questions as you like and more importantly provide them with as much information as you can

| Starbug,i enjoyed the fact is that there is things going on all the time, when watching football you could be stood still for 10-15 minutes with naff all going on on the field up to one end give possesion away back to the other end give possesion away, same old, but rugby your constantly shouting (high tackle, forward pass, great kick through, excellent try etc) i really enjoyed it and yes i have been to games since that i have thought what a load of crap, but Leigh are my team now and i continue to return week after week to cheer on the lads and this is what we have to make people of leigh and the surrounding areas to realise.
Glow my lad plays for Leigh Miners.
Also Starbug Leigh have the best sort of database out there they have the superleigh lottery thousands upon thousands of Names and address's get a mass mail out to them people about promotions, special offers Mid season ticket prices and yes feed them info and hope to get a bit of feedback back from them , see if we could get them down to the LSV. there are plenty of things LSV could do to try a boost attendances.
IMO beginning of the season and a majority of last season we where barely breaking 1600-1700 gates now where seeing 2000 - 2300, where getting back the people who have lost interest because the team werent doing that well, yes maybe £14 to see your team get hammered is their own decision, but now where getting all them people back in bits and bats because where now winning. lets just wait and see what the next couple of home games bring. also whilst we are winning and playing some good rugby exploit it to the full to try and entice people back.

But surveying existing fans just gives you preferences - not additional fans. We need to know how many EXTRA people would come if the day & time was changed. Two ways of doing that - (1) survey town centre / ASDA / Parsonage area or (2) try it.
Like I said previously - was the 25% increase partly due to the KO time / day ?
