Changing the coach would achieve zero IMO.

Facts are we are a club that is unable or unwilling to spend money.

I suspect its being run as well as the current people in charge can do it (and i'm no fan of AT etc) and is there a real need to invest in a league that has lost its identity this season icon_confused.gif: .

We have a young(ish) squad that is NOT and was NEVER going to finish in the top 4, we have however slipped in certain games regarding effort /concentration.
Concentration is understandable, effort is unforgivable, tiredness does play a part though with some pretty dire fixture planning for a part time club.

For me this season I want Leigh to compete with Doncaster, Batley, Whitehaven, Sheffield & Gateshead (pre Gateshead imploding i'd have settled for the others), I hope Leigh could finish top of this smaller financed group.
Playing and competeing against the full timers and big spenders is off the menu for a while.....maybe a long while icon_cry.gif

Getting rid of another coach would be a bad move.
Sorting the club out off the field to maximise opportunitys to bring in finance and realise what potential there is in the town/area is a must for those currently running the club.

It's ridiculous that people are even considering getting rid of the coach as an option, we need some stability all over the club, we need the attendances to increase and stay that way (will be hard at the moment for numerous reasons, recession poor rugby etc) a team that is together for more than 1 season (not just starting a fresh with a completely new team every year) and stick with a coach with that same team, they wil get to kno each other strengths and weaknesses!

Someone has mentioned they are only training together 3 hours a week it's no wonder our rugby is so flat no one will have a clue what anyone else is likely to do! give em a chance if we stay up we can hopefully add to the squad and get better next year and the year after!

they ave been training mon, wed, fri and sat morning upto the last couple of weeks due to games been on diff days, wot i dont think sum people realize is that the players dont ave there own gym to use at the club so ave to make there own arrangements which for sum means going on their nites off from training at leigh so you cud say sum train 5 nites a week aswell as work thru the day

It's a credit to semi-professional players. I was always of the opinion they work harder than your top professionals in Super League.

Depends who let them go out on the razz? Did they go on their own accord or did Kelly know?

Absolutely right Frank. From what we saw over the weekend they were all extremely professional & well behaved.

They're young lads away from home for the weekend, getting paid not a lot for being walloped around a pitch every week and training 4 or 5 times as well.

A few scoops after the game isn't unreasonable to me so long as they behave.

AT banned all players from going out after the game

Agree completely Alex's Dad - wouldn't be unreasonable at all after a tough game as long as it's handled right.

But we heard the same about them not being allowed out, which is why I thought it worth mentioning how good their discipline was in the middle of a tough run of games.

Their discpline was excellent before the game, so Saturday's defeat certainly can't be blamed on that.

Coach or team ?????

Lots of folk were shouting for N K to become our coach and he has , Lots of folk were shouting for players who were young , local ( or at least british), keen to prove themselves , Oh and Arthur Thomas on the board . We have NK and we have Arthur Thomas , i thought we had what looked like a youngish team with promise ( but do we ) , we know or at least have heard somthing about the RL history of both Neil and Arthur and we would have expected these two gents to know what they were doing and how to get it done , i don't know that much about the playing history of a lot of our team , who was charged with finding and signing these players ?? was it N K or the same as the year before ???. I know with the facts of new coach , new players and part time status it will take time for the staff and team to develope and perform to thier full ability ( i flipping hope they are not playing to it now ), It is like pulling teeth at the moment and the lads don't look as if they have any answers when a move breaks down and as for discipline pfffttt !!, surley Neil couldn't become a bad coach overnight or since coaching union , but who is telling the lads to play 1 up rugby , I'm not having a go i honestly have no idea myself and don't get to see anyone connected with our club anymore to ask them

The team needs time to learn how to play together but it's something we don't really have if the club is planning on applying for the next franchise so we are in acatch 22 situation, stick with this team and just add the odd player here and there or like in the past go for broke and pay money for old timers so we can get to a grand final.

Personally I want us to stick with this team give them more than a season together and they will come good! Imagine if Man United changed there entire team each year do you really think they would play well together and be as succesful?
