| I'm not a relative of Ryan's, infact I don't even know him. I'm just fortunate to have a decent group of contacts in the game who tell me what is going on where, if any of you recall I posted on these forums long before anyone else last year that all four Salford players would be signing for Leigh.
I don't have anything personal against Leigh, infact I want them in Super League just as much as you all do, because as a Salford fan I would prefer to travel to Leigh than Wakefield! I'm just passing on what information I know. It's sad to see how narrow-minded you all are in believing the rubbish which is coming from the club. Just as I wouldn't trust a word Marwan Koukash says, I wouldn't trust anything that comes from Derek Beaumont (Jukes included as he has proved with the Chase saga, that he is a liar and will say what he's told).
Quote: Johnny Headline "Tim Sheens did all he could to keep both Paterson & Hansen. Salford also offered Maitua a contract for this year, all 3 chose to get away from Salford the latter after having his wages missed whilst on loan.'"
Regarding Paterson, Hansen and Chase - Tim Sheens wanted rid of all of these players. Infact, Paterson even begged to stay but Salford refused to a) match his deal at Leigh which was more and b) weren't prepared to allow Cory to do a U-turn once it became common knowledge Sheens was coming on board. You're right about Reni though, we did miss (still paid, but late) a wage of his whilst he was on loan with us.

| So Hansen and Paterson both really wanted to stay at Salford but were booted out kicking and screaming?
It wasn't that they were completely fed up of not being payed on time or only getting part of their wage on time and just wanted to get away ASAP? Or that Paterson and his family ended up in danger of being deported because Salford made such a mess of sorting his VISA problems?
Maitua, Hansen and Paterson all wanted to get out. Whether Salford wanted to keep them or not anyway I have no idea.

| Not suggesting its the case but if any player had an illness or condition they might not want their younger or distant family members to know about (especially if 100% recovery looks likely) or one that might be used by opponents/fans as a wind-up - I would fully expect the coach to cover this - its a decent thing to do. It could be done simply by 'unwell' (as in Jeffrey Barnard is Unwell). I don't personally consider this lying.

If Rangi has issues that he wants to remain private then the deafening silence from the club is absolutely how it should be, the club has a duty of confidentiality that needs to be honoured. TBH I think the speculation needs to stop, it doesn't help anyone, least of all Rangi.
If there are any health problems, let him recover in his own time and welcome him back to the family when it's time. As the previous poster suggests, we don't know it is the case and nor should we.

| Quote: Johnny Headline "If Rowley did not want Chase then why was he meeting him in public prior to signing him, he was spotted on multiple occasions so he had to have had input on the agreement.

Rowley & Ryan are obviously close & im sure over time more info will come out.
Although Leigh are not my favourite team and I am not always impressed with the way DB comes across in the media you cannot knock his financial support & ability to attract quality players to the club. If teams like Wakefield and Bradford had somebody like him behind them they would probably put up with the media stuff because of the players he can seemingly attract even now when Leigh are plastered in the press for the wrong reasons.
For what its worth & knowing the industry I do believe Leigh have been hard done to recently, I do believe Rowley & Ryan will come out of this in the future looking a lot worse than the Leigh club.
The old proverb of "those who live in glass houses should not throw stones" springs to mind.
I will leave it at that for now but more will transpire.'"
Finger on the pulse Johnny and a few slices of Humble Pie will be eaten throughout the North when it does.

| We've all heard the rumors about Rangi in rehab, considering the problems he's had in the past. [sizeIF[/size he is surely that must be a good thing, he's far better dealing with any problems he may have now before they get bigger & potentially blow up in his (& the club's) face. I'd hope the club would support him. If this is the case Rangi might not want it making public in which case the club & fans should respect his privacy & the club has acted perfectly about it. Or he may just have the sniffles & his hip is giving him jip. Whatever it is I'm looking forward to seeing him back.

This is one of the big problems. Derek isn't perfect, he has a bad habit of always having to have the last word & is far too easily wound up be people deliberately trying to wind him up at times. However he's a gift to the RL press with how they can take him out of context. I remember when the salary cap went up & Henderson at London spoke out against it, a few days later there was at a Q&A evening with the new players & Derek, someone asked about Henderson's comments & Derek made a half joking response. The next week the RL papers were full of "Beaumont hits back at Henderson!" and it was all rubbish. If you only know Derek from the way the media portray him you may very well think he's this egomaniacal, angry, argumentative bloke however actually listen to what he has to say himself in context & it's clear he's got a lot of passion for Leigh, knows his Rugby, respects his players & loves what he's doing.
I do think it's slightly amusing that so many of the journalists who've been gleefully printing any dirt on the club they could find or invent, full of opinion & conjecture about how the club is in turmoil have now changed their tune & are calling the club unprofessional for releasing statements to clarify some of their rumors. Could it be some of them knew full well they were being used by a certain player to get what he wanted made public & now don't want to be shown up.

Agreed.
If a player has an injury, or illness, we have absolutely no right whatsoever to know all the details of that ailment. I wouldn't particularly want all and sundry to know of any ailments I might have - especially if any future sporting opponents may then be able to take advantage of them!
On Radio Manchester, last Sunday, our owner, when asked about Rangi, said he was unfit for selection. End of!
Suffice to say, with any illness or injury, suffered by any player, we should all be wishing him a complete and speedy recovery.

| Quote: Nozzy "So Hansen and Paterson both really wanted to stay at Salford but were booted out kicking and screaming?
This is what annoys me about these forums, where did I say that? Hansen wanted to leave and wanted to join Leigh, as he lives in Pennington and has a great relationship with many of your players. After a turbulent two seasons at Salford, he was attracted to fantastic team spirit that seemed in place at Leigh. I am sure he couldn't have foreseen both Rowley and Brierley leaving so soon. At the same time, Salford were happy to see him go as he was part of the problem off-field.
Paterson was also happy to leave, he was offered more money and a longer deal from Leigh than what Salford were offering. However when it became common knowledge that Sheens was signing, he really did want to stay at Salford but the club by this point were having none of it. It was a win-win situation for him, stay at Salford under Sheens (who he knows) or earn more money for longer for his family.
Anyway, back on-topic to Rangi/Barlow/Beswick and Kay.
