| I have voted against the song ,i really enjoy singing at matches and so do the people i sit with but we have never, and never will sing the flute song until the words are changed to show that we are proud to support Leigh rugby, the tune is very catchy so its a shame the words are'nt.At the match on Sunday it was a fantastic atmosphere with all the Leythers singing until of course the flute song ,i am always glad when its ended for me and my mates its a real cringer.

Isn't there a bit after the IRA bit ? I have always said swearing is a fact' practically everyone does it sometimes. It depends on the context the swear word is made' doesn't it before you decide if you are upset by it. For example if you are earwigging a conversation and you hear the dreaded F word a few times how does it make you feel ? Are you outraged ? What if there is a group of 30 friends talking' and' a mixed group at that- if you heard say a woman use the F word and it was not said aggressively would you be traumatised ?
I play Bridge too and I am outraged by the reference to that by MapleLeyther.
The flute song it seems to me makes some people cringe not because they personally are outraged by it but because they think others will be outraged by it.
Listening to Radio Smooth early in the morning on Saturday and Sunday makes me cringe because Tony Blackburn is infantile. When it gets bad I go and put the kettle on.

How long would a flag with "F@ck W1gan Rugby and the IRA" last if I brought it to LSV and hung it up - any modern stadium for that matter?
I think we can safely say that 99.99999% are against terrorists for goodness sake......but it doesn't mean you can't look at it and think what the f@ck we singing that for really? First impressions also do influence when new fans hear it and can't quite understand all the words but get IRA or F@ck. For me it is a catchy tune - but its them words that give the club a bad image.
And for those that use the sensitive ears type of comments I did actually sing it at top of my voice at the Pie Stadium in 2005, but since then I have grown to hate it when sung at games. This is a top corner of the Kippax fan typing this too

| You'll never walk alone is a major trade mark of the red scousers. So the song is relevant tbh
Delilah actually got a good round of applause for one of Stokes renditions at Maine Road once. Its a harmless uplifting tune when sung at full pelt.
Blue Moon gets the goose bumps going some match days, and is inspiring and harmless. The club also use it (words and all) as a major marketing gimmick for evening kick offs with all lights going out and just a blue moon on the big screen this season.
We have the tune - but the wrong words. Regarding being bitter about RFL is hardly great either. We want uplifting words for a good tune.
ps If anyone is interested we are short on numbers for the Tiddlywinks trials tomorrow evening if anyone is interested.

| Its a song.
No more or less offensive than the referee's a w----- or you fat ba----- Or any other childish references that go on at EVERY single sports ground in the UK be it sung or chanted or shouted.
Perhaps those advocating changing the words (and fair enough if you feel so strongly enough about it) will actually start up a chant at the next home game .
People will follow (this is the UK afterall), who knows, we might actually get some atmosphere at the LSV

Never meant "we" as claiming you sing it tbh. I use "we" as a collective term for us as Leigh fans. I don't sing it either.
You do need to look up what hypocrite means tho. I was very strongly in favour of P&R and totally against franchises until about 2006 season where I started to come round to the idea that something had to done. Does that mean I'm a hypocrite about that too ?
Anyway lets see how the next home game goes, as the last one I don't recall it sung.
