We'll see if his "mental health issues" arise again mid way through the season when he's back in the same changing room as Hock and has been playing at Sedgley Park and Bower Fold.

Reading the responses to this article on twitter & on the internet I'm slightly amazed at how little some fans seem to have learnt from the State of Mind Campaign & Terry Newton's death. Player welfare is the No1 responsibility of a club & mental health a very important part of that; Rangi feels Salford have failed in that responsibility. It's clear from so many players desperate to leave with such bad feelings some aspects of Salford's player welfare are failing.

I agree. I also feel any threads that personally attack or infer certain things at players should be removed. The nastiness and content appearing on twitter and Facebook makes me ashamed to be a RL Fan.

I've never suffered with mental health issues, and i am so thankful for that. Anybody who does deserves and should get all the help available, be they RL players or joe bloggs.

I had a nervous breakdown 40 years ago. So have a lot of sympathy for anyone with mental health problems.

I too have sufferd from mental issues and it certainly isn't funny. Shame on those who do think its something to poke fun at. Just because your a top rugby league player does not make you immune

....and now it is reported that Sean Long is also after money from Salford when a promised payment did not appear.

That must have been from the time when they employed him again after he walked out when Brian Noble was head coach.You know,the time after his mental health issues went public.
Salford also signed his mate after his mental health issues were publicized,following the drugs fiasco at Hull.Developing into a fine coach,apparently.

They've got a shocking record,that Salford.I know who l blame.

People from all walks of life can have mental health issues and none of it is funny. Both Rangi and Reni have had issues in the past. i hope they both get the support they need.
