Not so sure about Gaskell, he flattered to deceive a bit at Saints and hasn't pulled up any trees at either Salford or Bradford since. Don't get me wrong he's a decent player but his decision making following a break is often found wanting a bit. He's also not very vocal on the park. I don't think we should be looking at 'decent' players, we need to be looking at good ones.

In my opinion, a second Full Back wouldn't be bad. Just to give McNally competition. On the half back topic, a name that comes to mind Matty Wildie from Wakefield. For a sort of marquee signing, there may be a possibility of Chris Riley being available if he continues to be out of favour with Wire. As for Gaskell. He is SL quality and if anyone can bring out the best in players it's us so he's worth taking a look at. Thoughts? Also the appeal of joining us next season will be too good to pass up after the season we've had and the direction the club is going so now's a better time than ever to get some SL talent into this great squad.

Anthony Thackary from Dewsbury. Best 7 in the league. Riddy best 6 outside of SL great partnership. Presuming Ryan goes but I'm not 100% convinced he is a SL half back. Good pace and support play. Goes missing a lot.

Thackaray was outstanding on Sunday. Bossed the game for most of it.

However he is far to inconsistent for me. We already have one of the best in this division as cover for both young Ridders and Ryan.

Just look how many are under 25 above and thats what excites me most and you can add 3 or 4 younger ones who I rate highly, 2 played on Sunday.Really looking forward to seeing this team develop,I think we can and will get better this season and have far from peaked.

For me our player of the year should be riddy. He might not make fancy breaks or score lots of tries, but his organisation and kicking game are the best in the division by a country mile. Take brierley's try at the weekend he ran left then kicked right of the outside of his right foot. A difficult skill, much easier done the other way round. A try in the first half against Halifax of the back of a 40-20 kick. Put it another how different do Warrington look and how hard has it been for them without briers?
