| Well I go in the North Stand so was a good way from the McNally incident about the ball being in touch.
The way I saw it was that McNally reached over the touchline and batted the ball back into play with his right hand before the ball hit the ground. So it wasn't in touch hence the touch judges decision.
Re the ref I thought he was the same for both sides although he did miss a blatant knock on by the Dewsbury winger in the second half following a Leigh kick through' the ref's signal indicating he thought the ball had been knocked backwards.

| I was sat in West stand and McNally looked to be in touch when tapping the ball back in but, we have had some howlers against us plus, Dewsbury did get the chance to rectify it more or less straight away but messed it up .What I will say is I thought the defence was excellent last night only letting 1 try in .

| Referees who are that poor need bagging. I agree with what Nozzy said but it's alright saying that the ref kept the game flowing but not with ridiculous decisions like were made last night. I still say Riddy knocked on when he made that break then nearly had his head ripped off then Dave said he knocked on again which personally I didn't see. The interception try Riddy scored that was chaulked off I would love to see that again because for me it looked like the place the penalty was given was further than the 10meters that we should have been to commit the offense, and that is if he was even offside. The offside he pulled us for when we had them pinned on their line was a joke after what he had let go when they were defending. Consistancey is all a fan wants. Don't care if it's for or agsinst us. One more thing should it have been a penalty to us had Matt Gardner not got that ball down because I bet his neck is a couple of inches longer today with the attention he was getting.

I'm affraid our defence was lucky last night as Dewsbury fluffed three maybe four chances. Two when they were clear and dropped the ball. Having said that I think we still would have won easilly.

| When you consider the abnormally high number of mistakes the players made last night, (in awful conditions) I suppose it's inevitable that the officials are going to make a few as well.

| Ref did okay I think, difficult game to referee in front of the worst ref bashers in the country.

| Kept a fast pace in poor conditions, I would take him every week, especially v Fev assuming Powell doesn't get to him.

| I think he had a good game last night. It is difficult to ref in such wet conditions as every impact has the risk of a fumble of some sort. On the whole he was up with play, kept control of the game and let it flow.
His Touchies made some strange calls though (the Greg McN one being the strangest!).
As Mo said I rate Thomasson and would like him every week.
As far as the game was concerned I thought that Jowsbry only had one chance after the try (where the 7 knocked on the offload) and our defence was sound.
I was very impressed with their no. 10 (Crossley?) who did big minutes, hit it up really hard and chased 60 yards to try to tackle Mendieka when the game was already lost. Dont know if he is on contract for next year but I wouldn't mind him down here!

Admittedly I was watching from the North Stand but there seemed to be one in the second half when one of their players seemed clean through after a Leigh knock on but lost the ball with nobody anywhere near him? Thought our defence was very good on the whole though and I found it encouraging that Rowley said on GMR that he was disappointed with our attack, despite scoring nine tries!

I agree with you - I also rate Thomason. He is always up with play and is decisive. I thought his t-j's let him down a couple of times, although it's a funny thing - with the benefit of action replays, it's amazing how many times the officials get it right!
I also agree about Crossley - he played most of the 80 minutes, with aggression and passion. On last night's showing he looked a very good prop.

| The main reason fans call referees is that they do not blow up for every offence, as in a previous reply to this post, he let the game flow. When they blow up for an offence you can not really argue with the decision, just the other 3 or 4 occasions he did not blow. Then there's, did the ball play the man, or did the man play the ball, did he drop the ball or was it stolen. Has refereeing improved since they appointed the supremo, I would say definitely No. The reason given for the new corner flag ruling, it would not be long before an opposing player would bend the flag over to touch a player well in the field of play. Well if thats the case we may as well all pack it in. Rant over

If its the one that I assume it is then it was a genious piece of defending by Ryan Brierly that stopped that one! The Dewsbury player was clean through and heading for the try line and Brierly hadn't a hope in hell of stopping him from getting there! So he threw himself at the player and uppercutted the ball instead!! Knocked it right out of his hands. Ridiculously quick thinking and the kind of instictiveness that could win us a game in closer circumstances. IMO the 'smartest' thing Brierly has done since he joined us, and that is saying a LOT!!
