At all the matches so far the sound has been quiet

I could have swore I heard an announcement for the minutes silence, it was for Irene Parry wasn't it?

There may have been one but the gang of us in the West Stand didn't hear any announcement at all. Could hardly hear the teams being announced either.

The speakers weren't good last week either. They'll get sorted, I have faith ...

We were only informed of Irenes death on Friday evening, our Andy immediately rang Red Hall to get permission for the minutes silence, there was no reply, so he rang the two guys who he knows handles thuis sort of thing on their mobiles both were off so he left messages on their voicemail and sent them e mails, he got no reply off either so as far as the club was concerned there was no permission from the RFL for the minutes silence, the message obviously got through to the match commissioner and the referee but they didn't tell anyone at the ground that permission had been granted, Mr Stokes the ref went ahead but the announcer didn't know anything about it, in fact no one from the club did.
Our Dave mentions it on the video because he knew a minutes silence had been applied for (thats what you must have heard Michelle), apologies will be given to Irenes family.
The announcer is a new guy and it was his first time doing it so cut him some slack - the music and announcements sounded fine in the pre-match tests.

i was in the ground for the testing and it was loud. During the game it was very quiet though.

First visit to North Stand , very very poor PA levels , needs the LSV to look at it before the next sports fixture.

my mate who has a gud speakin voice turned up yesterday to do the microphone after bein told on thurs by TB that he had the job only to find when he got there that the other fella who has done the last 2 games and in my opinion is so borin was already there cross wires or what my mate was not best pleased

the fella doin the testing of the microphone before the match was not the same fella who did the match we had 2 yesterday and the one with the stronger voice had turned up asuming he had the job wasnt used

Ah you're absolutely right Fred, I was listening into the radio on my headphones. I wondered why Simon who was sitting right next to me hadn't heard the announcement and I clearly had.

You’ll have to ask the ball boy about any announcements in the North though, as he’s usually the only one in there when Blackburn play.
