Well done to the lads..... I did take the Seagulls @4/11scr and 10/11 -8 so excellent to get the BP. Roll on next week.

Just got home.

We gave away too many penalties and dropped balls at crucial times.

Both teams looked good in spells but it just wasn't our night.

Come the playoffs I think we can win anywhere judging off what I saw tonight.

We were well worth our bonus point too.

Not feeling too bad about the result. On the night Sheffield edged it.

You should never bet on your own team a026.gif

That was a hard fought game played at a very high speed both teams did well to keep the intensity going for so long. I thought the referee was shocking especially in the 1st half that didn't want give Leigh anything. I was pleased with our defence again tonight that's another game where back to back sets we defended on our try line & we was solid. Losing isn't the end of the world but at least we came away with something in the end.

I am a big fan of his but atm he in my opinion a little slower than he should be getting back into the defensive line.

He drives the ball in well as we all know and' is a much better player than he was earlier in the season' am sure he will get even better next season.

I think we just gave away too many penalties but I think we are capable on our day of winning anywhere as I said in my previous post.

Was talking to a few Sheffield fans at HT and they said we were the best Championship side they have played this season.

Duffy has potential but why should players be doing all his work load because he's too unfit? Got to say we are blessed to have Beswick who can excellently slot into any position so well & has phenomenal fitness. Some Sheffield fans believe that's their best performance this season but when we have Parker, Hoppy & Finnegan back the next time we meet could be very different.

I'd agree Leigh are the best side we've seen this season, thought we were outstanding tonight but Leigh played their part in what was a very good game IMO.

We had players missing too, Turner, Straugheir and Garside all missing through injury and we lost Hendo after 20 minutes.

Leigh's halfback combination is the best in the league, think Brierley has had an absolutely fantastic season. I think when we are both in full tilt we are the best two teams to watch in the division in terms of style of rugby.

Good luck for the rest of the season and see you in the playoffs, probably in the first round if things remain the way they are now!

As frank said, gave away FAR too many penalties, and gamebreaker was Thornley dropping ball over the line when he seemed certain to score!

Well it had to come, but I'm still impressed with the bonus point and very encouraged by the comments from Leythers who were there and from E.S.O.
A long drive to Sheff, on a Friday night, after a 5 day rest, after 4 games in 12 days, I'm amazed our lads are still standing, never mind pushing Sheffield so hard tonight.
I am confident that we will come back harder than ever in our next game.
I believe in Leigh icon_thumb.gif

To be fair to Sheffield, it was their fourth game in 12 days too. In addition to Parker, Hopkins & Bate, we were missing Finnigan.

For my money, Sheffield rightly edged it yet, as always there were a couple of crucial incidents. The Thornley dropped ball, under the posts was one, but there were two involving Brierley. There was the disallowed 'try' at 14-8, which turned into a penalty for dissent by one of the team, and Yere's second try. I'd like to see that on the DVD, although my first impression was that it was forward, but the players seemed incensed. Then there was the one where Brierley twice kicked on and was clearly impeded as he went to touch down. The ref thought so too and gave us a penalty but, for my money I thought he would have scored, had he not been taken off the ball, over the try line.

Still, a bonus point is a good result there - they haven't lost a league game at home since May 2012!

Great post about Duffy- lots of potential on offence but until he can guarantee getting back in the defensive line then he should not be in the 17.

If he wants it bad enough he will get in shape
