All PPA members with the club at heart would jump at this, I would even suggest they select a seat that would be reserved by name in the central west stand.
I would also look for sponsors to provide some food for them, lobby, chilli, pasta type - it would cost no more than £100 per game for 30-40 , I will sponsor the first lot of grub as well.

Jason Donohue has just tweeted he is meeting Trevor Barton today to discuss a new PPA which is a great positive move, also Neil Turley declared an early interest also.

It's very important the older players are involved as well as the young ones.

The PPA could hold dinners etc which would raise money for match tickets and their food when they invite other clubs PPA.

History is great but it don't pay any bill's.
It would seem this 'dispute' pre-dates the present 'regime' so Mr Chairmans comments re Mr Barton appear ill founded on this matter,and one would wonder whether this isn't something personal between Mr Lathom and Mr Barton? because one is Leigh east and the other miners Rangers, to let personal feelings come into this is a little underhand and only serves to muddy the waters somewhat.
How many of the 'active' past players association are there? and how many continue to attend games now that the 'free tap' has been turned off, surely that is an indication of their real feelings for the club, or it the typical Leigh disease of 'I'm not going because Mick Higgins once XXXXXXX or MIke Nolan said XXXXXX or even Jack Harding should have XXXX'?
Seems to me that ego's are getting in the way of discussion.
If some other past players wish to form another PPA then good on them but no political shennanaigans should be involved at all.

Surprised at some of the comments on here calling the past players free loaders

I know Alex Murphy is not best pleased with the current set up and was amazed he could not collect a few freebies from the club for the wigan game the other week and was told he would have to see trevor I shall not repeat his words but think back to the tv appearance when he was in the wigan changing room

So if the community champion at tesco can get freebies why not past players???

Just ask yourself this - could you ever see Sir Tommy Sale OBE EVER, EVER doing anything like this (newspaper article) against Leigh Centurions? I am sure he has been upset over many things over the decades but has always performed very graciously..others would do well to follow his example..

Wall space is ok in the concourses, but the banqueting suite is slightly different. It's used for other functions and events, (Blackburn Rovers for example) so the displays will have to be put up on mobile boards, and moved in and out of the room. Still dead simple though and achieved when the two parties discussed it. Why wasn't this talked about before? Don't know, but it sure sounds straightforward. I still think that's the obvious route with the club & past players, but they have to want to talk, or it can't happen.

I think that we all should just stop arguing and agree that the past players should have a place at OUR ground and all pull together to help the PPA and the club to make it happen. If it means the boards with all the memorabila being removed when Blackburn play then so be it. We will just have to make it work. Personally I have to say that Blackburn don't live at this stadium and it's not their home hence we don't call Leigh, Blackburn so sod them. The stadium is in Leigh so any photos of any sporting team that are put on the walls of our ground should be of teams from Leigh and only Leigh.

The past players are an important part of Leigh Rugby, they should be treated as such.
We wouldn't be here without past players, they'd be the ones who've seen us through thick and thin and still want to be here.

As for the PPA, their privileges were abused at Hilton Park, and the stadium management co have the final say in who goes where at the LSV , but one thing is certain, if they refuse to discuss resolving the issue, it wont get resolved, and by the sound of it, we will have a new organisation

So over to them, the ball is in their court, so to speak
