I have no problems with the stewarding at the LSV I think they do as they are told by their employers.

There however would seem to be a problem with the management team who insist on their rules being carried out to the letter irrespective of circumstances. Good managers are flexible and devolve a lot of their decisions to employees because it encourages enterprise and initiative. Something I feel they would do well to consider.

Oh and for the original poster I am pleased you had such a response from the steward concerned. He is a good lad whoever he is.

Quote: TV BOY "Jonny is right these are issues concernng supporters. If LISAs only aim is to raise funds for players and discuss what happens on the field then it is falling short somewhere. '"

i thought the whole reason that LISA was started was to raise funds for players.
the running if the LSV has nothing to do with LISA or the centurions for that fact. LISA should stick to doing what it was meant to do.

Quote: jonny the leyther "Where else are you supposed to raise issues as a supporter if you can't do it at a supporters association meeting?'"

erm.. you could try raising it with the people who control the issues, the club have no control over the stewards. try contacting the LSV management.

Agreed.

No ones saying they aren't issues, but they need addressing to those who are responsible.

By all means have Club and/or LSV representatives down occasionally, but by doing it all the time, it can dilute what to me should be LISA's main objectives, increasing membership, fund raising ideas, increasing participation at events, where the money raised are being spent etc.

Just out of interest how much of the meeting time is spent listening to the 'visitors' and how much on LISA issues?

Arthur/Ian was there to thank the walkers and they asked if anyone had any questions, as a LISA member contributing £5 I feel that its one of the priveliges(sp) we have and always have had, if non member s dont like ,either join or shut up basically. eusa_wall.gif icon_ass.gif icon_ass.gif icon_ass.gif icon_ass.gif icon_ass.gif icon_ass.gif icon_ass.gif icon_moon.gif icon_moon.gif icon_moon.gif

LISA also handed the club a cheque for £2K as a donation (nothing to do with the walk).

Arthur And 'Basil' also commented on the great effort not only by LISA but by the corporate club, lottery members agents etc on not only doing the special things (like the walk) but for their everyday efforts.

Forever Reds (our version of LISA) has meetings split into sections - part for 'business', part for Q&A with players/coaches, then usually a quiz to finish off.

Not saying it's the way is should be done at LISA meetings, but perhaps it's a way of keeping all parties happy whilst ensuring that LISA's core purpose doesn't get forgotten?

I'm never ever going to have a go at LISA and what they do, but I think you underestimate what the fans actually think of you. Maybe that's the reason they ask LISA to raise the issues rather than go to the clubs as all you will get from the club is the same old 'thankyou for your e-mail, yadda yadda yadda, go away, thanks.' But LISA actually care about the club and the fans and in the meetings you speak to, and wait for it.....'real people! humans who can reply with words rather than a hollow e-mail.

totally agree , LISA is the voice of the fans, when you email the club they arent put on the spot wereas when people ask questions they cant really ignore it.

thats the beauty about LISA meetings having a club rep there it doesn't always have to be basil or a player Allan Rowley and directors have appeared in the past and as these days LISA meetings are open to non members for free then fans have no excuse to go along and ask questions these questions can also be written down and handed to the LISA chairman to ask, but personally (and I know I do it) I dont think any person oher than a LISA member should be able to ask the questions thats one 'perk' about being a member of the organisation.
And LISA business is also discussed at the meetings when there is anything to discuss this week CC's Poker comp was discussed, a quiz has been tried in the past but like everything else it always falls on Lynda to organise it so its no wonder that part has stopped.

No ones having a go, and I fully understand that on occasions 'visitors' should attend, if fact this one was probably one of those occasions but as an outsider it appears that the visitor appearance has become more important than taking LISA forward.

It's alright discussing the issues with 'real people' provided they are the ones responsible for the issue, I don't think AT or IM were the ones telling the Cheerleaders to keep off the pitch.
