BTW whatever you thought of the reffing today Leigh were clearly the better side and imo Miles Greenwood was outstanding for Batley.

Rumour is he will be at Fax next season.

I haven't seen a rugby league player as unfit as their number 11 for a long while. He was puffing and blowing after about 15 minutes. He was so tired in the second half he virtually tackled himself in the second half on one occasion. He seemed to be one of their pivots though which was odd.

This was the first time I have had the chance to see Leigh play in the flesh this season. It was nice to have some sun and warmth at Batley which I cannot remember ever happening. What struck me as the biggest improvement since I last saw them was the defence, even when they had repeat sets they never looked like scoring other than from a kick.

I felt we bombed a few chances that we could really have taken which seems to be the story of the season, but you cannot expect everything to come off. Just looked a really confident, well-drilled side to me.

Riddy's kicking was brilliant all through the game - 3 40/20's that should really have been 4 as far as I could have seen. As Keith Hindley said to me, if they manage to get one a game in SL, they are raving about it on Sky and he had three!

Ref seemed a bit clueless...relied on his linesmen a heck of a lot. Looked about 16 as well.

If what I'm hearing about what the comments were is true then the sending off was justified especially in the light of the RESPECT campaign, something by the way most people involved as officials and players in Rugby League should revisit, some of the abuse leveled at Touch judges and refs by the 'benches' at them is disgraceful.

The comments were a constant barrage to a Leigh player I presume once the ref heard one he branded the red card as per the rules.
