OK, Here's my twopenneth...

I think that it was a fantastic game in the conditions - the Dull KR v Cats match which I watched later did not have a fraction of the flair which both teams tried to play with. Apart from the tries I think each team had 4 clean line breaks so it shows both were trying to play rugby.

Fev fully deserved the win - on the night they had a little bit more composure and their kicking game was excellent.

We on the other hand kicked poorly - without Duffs on the field Martin is the only grade 1 kicker but as he is also the only pivot in the team he needed to be quite flat in the line which meant that with the Fev pressure he sometimes struggled to get the correct option away.

We seemed to get the rub of the green with penalties but we also had the majority of the "oh no" moments which neutralised any benefit from this.

Either Duffy or Nicho would have been a big asset last night but I am not going to be drawn in to criticising Rowls as he has made good calls all year and we even managed to get close to stealing a draw last night.

All in all a good game played in (relatively) good humour by, I believe, the two teams which will contest the Grand Final this year.

Well done to Fev. Roll on the NRC semi!

I feared the worst at the LSV last night , and was RIGHT

, after seeing Briscoe selected at 7 , for me it didnt work against the Seagulls and didnt work last night , against the Seagulls we went in at half time 12-12 , we could have gone in 12-18 down , ut after changing the formation around we won the second half 28-0 , you cant do this against Fev and expect to win .

For me the team performed OK , i stayed and clapped them off as they put the work in Fev looked comfortable tackling us , we could have had 10 forwards out there last night , they would have tackled them ,you need to attack and create problems for teams like Fev , Brierley scored the try of the Game ,and against Kain and Finn you need 2 halfbacks giving them problems ,we missed Duffy,on the plus side we got a point , its not the end of the world,and hopefully PR will learn something from last night ,and get us back on track next week , and again at POR , in the NRC .
Ive also just been told our under 23s are starting up again in September , good news there ,again last night i thought Pownall had a very good game .

As been said we missed Duffy at HB......Briscoe is a 13 end of. Also get Nicho on the bench and I feel we`ll turn em over in the semi.

Not that far behind last night, just need to kick a little better and cut out the silly little mistakes that cost us the game.

I really think that had we not coceded that soft try then we could have beaten Fev last night and even though they looked a lot better than us in most peoples eyes, I wonder if it was just being a little too critcal of our own performance. If they were that much better than us the score certainly did prove it and all can remember are our mistakes and those of the ref. Oh forgot Fevs kicking game was ten times better than ours but that was it.

Proper blood n snot rugby. Two well committed teams. Result appropriately reflected the game. Had Leigh nick a draw/win I would have felt it was unjust given the balance of play etc - but then I would wouldn't I!



Now - that's those noisy pretentious upstarts from the 'dark side' of the hills subdued for a fortnight!!!






I sincerely hope the 62 is kinder to you than it was to us last night. See y'all then.

Totally agree Tony , we easily scored the BEST try , our backs 1-5 are very good , but Riddy needs help at half back its to much for him to ask him to take on the likes of Kain and Finn on his own , when Brierley came on our performance went up a couple of notches , and we could have snatched the Game , still i hope we can get a more smooth performance in 2 weeks , we need a Blackpool appearence .

Not afe! That try ought to be a contender for try of the season! Great build up, great handling and an unbelieveable turn of pace for the line. There won't be many tries scored that will better that this season. Worth buying the dvd just for that!

Scored off the same move against Leeds, but McNally went on his own that time. However, when the ref caught up with everyone, he decided McNally hadn't grounded the ball!

Good atmosphere when the Fev fans eventually arrived. Like I've said elsewhere, those that battled through, deserve a medal!

As regards who did and didn't play last night, do we know how far off Duffy is from getting back, and is Nicho injured, or just not being selected at the moment?
