Well I just watched 1 of those 4 because I started watching in 1956. Was discussing it last night with my mate who is 3 months younger. He said difference with our current side as opposed to the 1981/2 Championship side was that we won most games by a few but did not play exciting to watch rugby' this side certainly does that. This team never gives up and as I have said before are superbly fit and have a marvellous team spirit. Every now and again we get a spell of play when it is like watching the Harlem Globetrotters. |

Fantastic effort again last night from the lads., love being out with my smoggy mates on nites like that.
Keep it up.. really entertaining rugby..and I might start to come over to the LSV more often..

You can't compare this Leigh team with the others mentioned. They played against and beat the best: sadly the current team doesn't have that privilege. That doesn't stop us admiring what they are doing though. And this doing down of Widnes is no good. If they don't make a go of it in Super League it will harm the chances of others in years to come. It's feet on the gound time

Aiming to be the best in the championship is as far as we can go at the moment. Watching a team playing with pride in the shirt and with no little skill too is good enough for me.

With the game being on TV it was quite a reality check to the rest of the Championship teams who now realise the task in front of them if they have visions of winning something. I also think the Catalan contingent went away with food for thought.

I don't know if you listened to IMs interview on GMR after the game but he said that he can only tell the players what to do and it is upto them to perform and carry out the orders. Which is right as he is not on the field. Other coaches probably tell their players simillar things to IM but our players are doing it and doing it well. |
