Sunday 6th September 2009 Millward to coach in third tier Former St Helens boss Ian Millward will be coaching in the third tier of British rugby league next season after Leigh were relegated from the Co-operative Championship. The Centurions will join Doncaster in Championship One in 2010 despite gaining a 47-14 win over Whitehaven on the last day of the regular season. Mick Nanyn(2), Dave McConnell (2), Lee Wingfield, Martyn Ridyard, Dave Alstead (2) and seven goals from Nanyn helped the hosts to victory. They were condemned to relegation after Batley came from 14-0 down at Featherstone to win 30-26 and Gateshead triumphed at Doncaster, who have finished the season with 17 straight defeats. Leigh actually finished in eight place, above Toulouse, but the French club are exempt from relegation.
