What I said was if money was his main motive for staying at Fax I don't want him coming to Leigh in a few seasons to see out his career,after Fax have had the best of him.

This is a general theme with Leigh and local lads who have played elsewhere throughout their career and to be honest I'm getting a bit sick of it.Nothing personal at all against Penky, I like Leigh lads doing well anywhere,I just don't like my club being used as a half way house before they retire.

Thats a fair comment and i understand your frustration but Leigh, like Halifax are often used as a feeder area for bigger clubs such as Wigan and Bradford. As we both know rugby league is a very short career and penky is lucky to get a 2nd bite of the cherry but he has paid his due`s. If it is money then good luck to him, we would all do the same for our family etc. If its money and success then career wise Halifax are a little healthier than Leigh right now.

Thankyou for posting that because its amazing how nobody believes my anecdotes.

After our match on Sunday I was suicidal and couldn,t risk staying alone in my luxurious apartment here in the posh part of Salford, for obvious reasons.

As soon as I got home I phoned Quantas to see if they had any standby tickets on their flight to Oz later that evening. To my relief they did so I booked a fight over the telephone and hotfooted it to Manchester Airport.

I arrived in Sydney at 10am Monday and took a helicopter flight to Camberra. By 11-30am I was in discussions with an official there about a visa for Joe Williams. When I broke down and told him about Leigh,s performance on the Sunday he was clearly moved and told me he,d sort it within the hour. I took the next available flight home.

No thanks are necessary from anyone as there are lots of Leythers like me. I wasn,t going to post about it because I didn,t want to get the official in trouble but he phoned this morning to ask was I feeling better.

I might have got the day and timings wrong cos I was a bit disorientated due to Oz being in a differant time zone.

Well done Frank. We owe you one.
