Alan as i demonstrated in my personal vision in the earlier post if a structure was set up right with a BOD capable of offering the right support not just financial but also professionally to the current buisness manager and staff both paid and unpaid then its a case of adding to and working with what weve got but really moving forward. Not massive wholesale changes just adding value to the great work yourself and other volenteers already do and generating a real wave of support and getting ourselves right out into the wider community and getting the momentum behind us.

Rob Parker is doing a sterling job as a rookie Buisness manager and eager to learn and with the right people at a new top table to learn from he has potential.

Why pay a CEO if you had 5/6 commercially astute Directors willing to be on the end of the phone daily and sit and guide the likes of Rob for free???

In many ways, Andy, I feel that Trevor was acting as 'General Manager', running the day-to-day activities of the club. Someone in that role is crucial.

As many former directors, who are business men would probably tell us, devoting considerable time to the club, caused them to take their eye off their own business, with catastrophic results.

That said, I'm not arguing against anything you suggest. A new impetus is obviously needed to recover and then, critically, push on.

Of course, 'volunteer' doesn't necessarily mean 'amateur'. Some of the current band of 'volunteers' are highly qualified in their particular field of expertise. I hasten to add that I don't mean me! My previous experience in the field of media is nil, and I'm particularly aware of that, when I have cause to talk to my programme counterparts at Wigan, Leeds and Bradford - all of whom are 'Media Managers', who have an army of paid journalists at their disposal. But then again, I wonder what their salaries are like, compared with mine? icon_wink.gif

Personally , i think no news is good news , at the moment , but it does seem to be going on a bit at one time we seemed to have a very transparent club , i dont want it to go back to the old 3 fingered hand shake icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif .

We all know money TALKS , and we need investors and Sponsers , i just wish i had a few quid to put in , lets get something sorted out soon .

Sorry to disagree Charlie but in cases like this no news is bad news as it gives the snipers and rumour mongers time to spread their poison and tickle tackle I only thank Andy (and even Maurice icon_wink.gif ) for giving us so much, we all know how much communication comes from 'the top', none no more than I as I've been trying (and in the main failing) to get as much news out there about the club for years, even though some seem to pillories me for it.
